@luke Back to the stoic saying "everything in moderation, including moderation". This also applies to imagination and self-reflection.
Having too little imagination can also be overdone. Imagine having a society that promotes being "suspicious of ALL imagination". Most people would not question the status quo. People who do would be ostracised.
The wet dream of any tyrant (material or spriritual).
As a side note, I would be curious how the Orthodox think about Mathematics, which (at least from an intuitionistic perspective) is a pure product of imagination.
Arianna, Fairy Princess, is ready for a night out among her fellow fae. Fabulous!
Arianna is from Reaper Miniatures.

This kawauso (river otter) yōkai from Reaper Bones 5 would like to share his plums with you. I’m sure he’s safe.

@Rathmore Wohoo! More #miniaturepainting content on the fediverse! Also, fantastic paintjob :)
@hernavs I did my bachelor's in time series prediction using a (rather exotic) RNN. I'm not up to date with current deep neural net developments though.
As for your question, I think this is plausible in some cases. Since trained CNN's are in principle time-invariant filters which are used in time series processing and pattern detection for decades. And as we know, neural nets are universal function approximators so in theory, a CNN may learn any time-invariant filter. So, as long as stationarity is not violated (i.e. your pattern doesn't change over time), CNN's might be just as good as RNN's, at least in theory.
LSTM's have inherent biases decrease conversion time in learning time series. Maybe those biases hold LSTM's back in some cases, and RNN's can shine in such cases?
@hernavs Hi & welcome! I wouldn't say it's my job but I did several ml-related university projects. But the field is pretty huge. Which part are you interested in?
Made some tiny scrolls from Fimo today. Great as treasure markers :)

Shocking, the extents of these fires!

@design_RG here's a newbie question... Does blocking instances in the fediverse work in both direction or can one choose to e.g. only block ingoing toots?
@design_RG I believe leaving gab connections unimpeded was a good choice. I just learned about them and thanks to your decision had the opportunity to "see for myself" what they're about. This gave me the chance to make up my own (not very favourable) opinion about them without needing to rely on news sources. Kudos :) @realcaseyrollins @NekoAmps
Another gem found on fediverse.space.
The Stats for any instance include "Insularity" -- the percentage of all created messages in the instance which are directed to users in the same instance.
I had seen this mentioned, and now confirmed it.
This is what Defederation looks like. Not pretty.
@design_RG thanks for the resources :)
@design_RG Thanks rob! Very kind :D
Preferred languages are English and German. Can't really understand Spanish at all xD
