I need to know what rights to Instance owners get.
@Full_marx an instance owner can set any rules they want and block or ban whoever they want from a technical aspect. The owners also get to decide if they wish to block their entire instance from other entire instances, again technically speaking.
Usually when a user selects an instance they do so with the intention of picking an instance that has rules and moderation policies they personally agree with. Obviously people who join an instance want to know that they will not personally be censored but also protected from others who might harass them or otherwise be unwelcome.
On this instance, QOTO, we do **not** ban people for being right-wing, left-wing, or for holding any particular viewpoints provided they are respectful and curteous to others.
We require users to basically be kind to eachother, the most fundemental rule is to "respect a users right to disengage" In short this means if you make it clear you do not wish to interact with someone they are then obligated to leave you alone, if they dont then action will be taken.
Statements made intending to be explicitly hateful, such as explicitly racist comments, would also be against the rules (as i said, be kind to one another). But again we won't ban based on political views or personal opinions though.

Suppose somebody spins up a far-right NeoRx instance. But only one member from that instance starts harassing liberals on other instances.
Could you block that one person from your entire instance? Or would you have to block that far-right instance all together?
@Full_marx Yes they would have to explicitly state it. If you message someone unaware that they didnt want to be contacted you would be fine. But once they say "leave me alone" then you are expected to respect that wish.

It's a framework/network for writing distributed apps built on DHTs! It's agent-centric, with each agent having their own "source chain" that is essentially a journal of their activity within the app; entries into the source chain are shared with the app's DHT network and other agent-nodes in the network gossip to ensure that new entries are witnessed, verified, and properly allocated within the DHT.
The framework is written in Rust using proc macros with a javascript test framework called TryORama and currently in alpha right now! Check it out at https://developer.holochain.org

@ErikaDesign What are you trying to do? If you just want to reply to something i say then yea you hit the first arrow and it will be a reply. Reboost is if you want to reshare something in your timeline so everyone will see it.

Generally your instance tends to allow a lot of free speech. Its only when p has a personal grudge he is more than happy to disregard such notions it would seem.
He had also at the time employed a script that spammed our server from yours for many hours filling up my (im the moderator/admin) my inbox in a tempt to force our server to block FSE

"Many hours" is quite an exaggeration. You spammed me, I told you to fuck off, I wrote a script and let it run for a while, with the hope you'd just block me and I could stop hearing from you. (You also claimed it didn't fill up your inbox and that you were dropping all of the messages.)
So now, here you are, making shit up and trying to re-litigate a retarded internet slapfight. There's no action item attached, just this petty shit, and you wonder why it is I don't want to hear from you. I don't know what your deal is, I certainly prefer not to interact with you and I don't know why it is you can't take a hint.
For the record
1) It went on for about 6 hours
2) I did write a script that stopped it from showing up which took away from my otherwise busy schedule
3) Him claiming I was bugging him is a bit vague and out of context. what he meant is i kept showing up in reply threads of people I was talking to and he happened to be in the thread already (and thus getting tagged when I was responding to the original poster and not him)
4) He has been reacting this way every time he sees me in a response thread for well over a year now
5) He could have just blocked me, and frankly not sure why he just unmuted me if it is going to provoke him into another tantrum.
6) He doesnt defederate with servers because of "free speech" but he does try his best to force other servers to defederate with him so he can claim he is still pro-free speech. That was the intent of his spam attack (see attached image)
7) He is also leaving out the fact that he was so unhinged the last instance started because he blamed one of his users of being an alt of mine (he wasnt) and banning him and then plastering all over the admin account how he caught me (he didnt). Worse yet he didnt just engage in censorship by banning the account at all but he then proceeded to **modify** the account's data to have false description that was not there before (thinking he had caught me he thought it would be slick to plaster to modify the account holders description after blocking). See attached pictures.
He tends to make stuff up; since Mastodon proxies images, his "personal IP" doesn't matter: the version of this image that he sees is at https://storage.gra.cloud.ovh.net/v1/AUTH_011f6e315d3744d498d93f6fa0d9b5ee/qotoorg/cache/media_attachments/files/105/557/943/590/774/197/original/c195a6e3107eb96a.png , and if he couldn't see it, that would mean that ovh.net has blocked him, not FSE. It can't be that his server's IP is blocked or you wouldn't see this message.
It is possible that there was a mistake, however. There are a lot of things that get traffic dropped from any given IP address: if they participate in a DDoS (it is extremely unlikely he falsely triggered that, but could have happened during the last big DDoS when I manually intervened) or if they try to brute-force the root password. If that's the actual case, he can wait until it expires or DM the IP he wants removed from the list. I'll un-mute him (I have him personally muted) in the off-chance he's got a legitimate issue and would like to remedy it.

No I couldnt see it because i was viewing the post directly on FSE.. I was loggin in through the terminal (text only) as i didnt have my 2-factor with me to login via the web interface. To view the image i was following the link in the text to the post to try to view it and could not.
