*PRO NERD TIP*
Today I learned about "The Wikipedia Library Card". If you've been a WP editor for >6 months, have made >500 edits, at least 10 edits in the last month, and are not blocked for being a cretin, you can access a *ton* of paywalled content for free.
ScienceDirect, AAAS, The BMJ, both APAs, EBSCO, Springer, Nature, Wiley, and many more.

All those hours in 2005 spent editing sci-fi book articles finally paying off!
I really like the favorite/boost/bookmark distinctions. I also like the fact that here you have to go back to the original post to talk--my brain says lovechild of Twitter and Pillowfort. Also, accountability, woohoo!
So. In my view.
Favorite: HEY YOU this was a COOL THING.
Boost: HEY EVERYONE this was a COOL THING.
Bookmark: HEY ME don't forget about this COOL THING.
Reply: OMG WHAT A COOL THING can we TALK about it?
I'll tell you one thing, Twitter disaster/impending doom has made me more active on social networking than I've ever been. Is this the same as when people would hang out in underground stations during the blitz and talk ... about everything? Will this be how the apocalypse goes down? #CuriousMinds #TwitterDeathWatch
The Stable Earth

The concept of 'Total Disaster' requires instability. The fact that we are here, making fun of Musk, is that the Earth is stable. This is just one of many stabilizing mechanisms that I have found, and that require more physics in the field.
For Day 17 of the #30DayMapChallenge I asked #stablediffusion for “A map that looks like it was drawn without a computer” The #AI has clearly cheated and came up with these…
I just presented Art Spiegelman with the National Book Award Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, on the same day that PENAmerica put out a letter signed by Art and Margaret Atwood and me, among others, protesting the latest round of book bannings.

@godlessmom @ygadinthesix I paused.. I clicked.
Sir. I was not disappointed.
@godlessmom Hello, I'd like to tell you about my most anticipated movie in all of film history:
💰 #Gold rush on the #moon 🌙 🇮🇳 The #Artemis Accords and #mining #rules on #moon, explained : "Richer nations stand to gain the most from #access to #space" https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/news/science/the-artemis-accords-and-mining-rules-on-moon-explained/article65881642.ece
"At least six countries and a flurry of #private #companies have publicly announced more than 250 missions to the Moon to occur within the next #decade. Many of these missions include plans for permanent lunar bases" https://theconversation.com/lunar-mining-and-moon-land-claims-fall-into-a-gray-area-of-international-law-but-negotiations-are-underway-to-avoid-conflict-and-damage-to-spacecraft-188426
@radehi The muscle memory is still there, the reflexes start to slow down.. :)
My career ultimately took me into management and that's when you lose the day to day 'hands on' that it takes to be good.
Now I'm an extremely competent layman. When I was at ILM, while I was a generalist, my focus definitely became composting, and while that was all proprietary software, it's basically Photoshop on steroids. So - I make a mean Christmas card, but the truth is every year - I _know_ what I want to do, but it takes me longer and longer to find the button.. haha
Just wanted to mention I saw your #introduction post and read what you said about Twitter - that is _exactly_ how I felt, and what I did.
I'm also keen to make my first Wikipedia contribution. I love Wikipedia - I support them through donation but would love to be an editor as well. Seems like a meaningful hobby.
The question I receive most is - “Where do I learn more about social engineering?”
Here are some resources to get you started…
1. Influence, New and Expanded: The Psychology of Persuasion - Robert B Cialdini PhD 👨🏫
2. The Code of Trust: An American Counterintelligence Expert's Five Rules to Lead and Succeed - Robin Dreeke 📕
3. Practical Social Engineering: A Primer for the Ethical Hacker - Joe Gray
4. Sizing People Up: A Veteran FBI Agent's User Manual for Behavior Prediction - Robin Dreeke
5. Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It - Chris Voss
6. Six-Minute X-Ray: Rapid Behavior Profiling - Chase Hughes
