@borrisinabox So why the big mastodon.social? Thinking of moving to a different one myself--qoto uses a forked instance and I think it'll read better if I'm somewhere else. They have done some cool things re: customization though.Able to open local timelines from other places etc. You can do this with other sites as well, so I wouldn't be missing much there.
I'll tell you one thing, Twitter disaster/impending doom has made me more active on social networking than I've ever been. Is this the same as when people would hang out in underground stations during the blitz and talk ... about everything? Will this be how the apocalypse goes down? #CuriousMinds #TwitterDeathWatch
Who thought last month that the Democratic control of Congress would outlast Twitter? #Twitpocalypse #ElonIsNotAGenius
Local news just called #Twitter a $44 billion dumpster fire - couldn’t agree more.
What am I doing wrong re: searching. if I enter in a hash tag manually like #introduction or something like that, I get no results.
Mastodon, now!

I was laid off from Twitter this afternoon. I was in charge of managing badge access to Twitter offices.
Elon just called me and asked if I could come back to help them regain access to HQ as they shut off all badges and accidentally locked themselves out.

From Twitter after requesting the archive: "We received your request. To protect your account, it can take 24 hours or longer for your data to be ready." I wonder how many requests they're getting now. Maybe my request will be the one that kills the server. #whoops
Noel Romey: I can log into twitter with my security key but I can't request an archive with the key? That's ultra awesome. #TwitterExplosionThursday
So here's my #introduction and shockingly, it should not have typos in it. I'm a chemical engineer by training, now working in IT accessibility. I'm hoping that I can get back into science and engineering as it's most definitely my first love as far as work. Really enjoying reading Mastodon and looking forward to getting to know others in the fetaverse.
A chemical engineer by training, I'm a blind IT professional with way too much education and a yearning for positive change.
