✅ DO use Content Warnings if you wish to warn your followers about a topic that might disturb or annoy them.

✅ DO use Content Warnings if you wish to hide spoilers on media you want to discuss.

✅ DO use Content Warnings liberally every time you see fit for your own audience.

✅ DO follow your instance rules about Content Warnings.

But within the limits of your server's rules, it is your choice.

❌ DO NOT tell people they should have used a Content Warning on a toot you do not like or that disturb you (unless you are an instance moderator).

WHAT TO DO INSTEAD❓

2. You can Mute a person that you do not wish to read the toots of (temporarily or permanently).
Go to their profile, click on the 3-dots button on the right of “Follow/Unfollow”, select Mute 🔕

3. You can unfollow a person so you will not see their toots in your Home timeline (unless their toots are boosted by others you follow) ​

4. You can Block a person entirely to never see what they toot and they will not see what you toot.
Go to their profile, click on the 3-dots button on the right of “Follow/Unfollow”, select Block 🙅‍♀️

5. If a toot is contravening server’s rules, you should report it in private to the instance's administrator(s) or moderator(s) 🆘

6. These are all choices you have to control what you see in your timelines in a healthy way.

Unless it is harassment, hate, breaking server’s rules (in which case you should report), respect what others wish to toot.

That is their choice and you have yours 💚

The good: On Tuesday, I paid around 350 yen ($2.50) for a trip to the hospital to get stitches removed from my cheek.

The “I can live with that”: It cost around ¥42,000 ($300) to put them there the week before. (Not bad for a minor surgery.)

The horror: The anesthesia wore off midway through the actual stitching, and I felt the needlework on my face for 10 to 15 minutes. 😱 Call me Rambo.

The doctor apologized later.

Japan is injecting stimulus money to help ease inflation, but this will likely cause an even bigger inflation monster down the road! As the BOJ's currency intervention is failing to keep the Yen from crashing, consumer prices are soaring in Japan with inflation reaching a 33-year high. And to fight this, they are going to print money to ease the higher cost of living. But beware of the law of unintended consequences!
