@worldsendless they're both right, but if you want to- I believe you can also migrate your account if needed. Though I don't recall how to do so offhand. Might want to ask the qoto admin @freemo

@lucifargundam

Right, while you can always migrate your account to a different server you only need a single login to interact with the fediverse as a whole. You can follow and talk to anyone from any server.

You can also pull up a foreign server's local timeline as a dedicated column in QOTO so you can see what you'd see if you were local to the other server. So it really eliminates any need for multiple accounts.

@freemo @trinsec @lucifargundam @yogthos @worldsendless Might be good to point out the gypsies of the Fediverse. From Mastodon you are not able to talk to Diaspora users. This is not a problem since you can interact with funkwhale, peertube, pixelfed, friendica, hubzilla..... Enough to keep you busy for years :-)

Good point.

And by the way we have servers running most of the other sort of federating apps as you mentioned... qoto hosts a funkwhale ( audio.qoto.org ), peertube ( video.qoto.org ), matrix chat (element.qoto.org ) and about a dozen federating servers in general.

So your welcome to explore many of those services right here on QOTO, or you can use other instances if you prefer and it will interoperate just as well.
