@worldsendless they're both right, but if you want to- I believe you can also migrate your account if needed. Though I don't recall how to do so offhand. Might want to ask the qoto admin @freemo
@hans_w @freemo @trinsec @lucifargundam @yogthos@mastodon.social whoa...I have no idea what any of those are
Take a look at https://qoto.org/about/more we list about a dozen federated/decentralized servers we host (including many in that list). Most of them can talk with each other in some way.

Good point.
And by the way we have servers running most of the other sort of federating apps as you mentioned... qoto hosts a funkwhale ( https://audio.qoto.org ), peertube ( https://video.qoto.org ), matrix chat (https://element.qoto.org ) and about a dozen federating servers in general.
So your welcome to explore many of those services right here on QOTO, or you can use other instances if you prefer and it will interoperate just as well.

@lucifargundam
Right, while you can always migrate your account to a different server you only need a single login to interact with the fediverse as a whole. You can follow and talk to anyone from any server.
You can also pull up a foreign server's local timeline as a dedicated column in QOTO so you can see what you'd see if you were local to the other server. So it really eliminates any need for multiple accounts.
