@Scarabeater@anticapitalist.party There is no centralized org. Most Antifa are part of their local cell however and very clearly do organize and have meetings.

@Scarabeater@anticapitalist.party Funny, all the incidents of violence I've personally witnessed from Antifa was always against older people wearing MAGA hats. Never once saw them assaulting a military base.

I would equally claim that just as the violence Antifa wields is wrong so is the violence perpetrated by the state.

@Scarabeater@anticapitalist.party Lets be clear I do not support tolerating of intolerance by any means. But I also don't support an organized movement where violence is used to illicit change.

You're doing that thing people do where they take something you say then try to act naive and pretend you heard something different than what was actually said and then argue that rather than real point. Its call a strawman.

@Scarabeater@anticapitalist.party Nope, ALL anti-fascist actions are not fascist. However it CAN be depending on what that action happens to be. In this case specifically the actions of those associated with a specific organization (Antifa), at least for the most part.

@arteteco @freemo@video.qoto.org Well you can follow a peertube user. Whenever that user posts a video it will show up as a status update. So you can see and play it right in mastodon. Similarly if you respond to that status update in mastodon your reply will show as a comment on the video on peertube itself.

Similarly you can follow channels instead of the user itself. Which is unique, the channel looks/acts a bit like a user even though it isnt one. However I have had some glitches following channels (their posts dont show). But peertube is still alpha so likely something that will be fixed on a later version.

@freemo it works, that's magic! I wonder what options are there to connect a mastodon account to a peertube one

@bthall @Gargron I've been doing research in the decentralization space for a lot of my career. This topic is of interest to me as well.

@freemo @Gargron This discussion has highlighted for me an interesting side thing to consider: the matter of de facto centralization amidst the use of systems that permit decentralization. To what degree is a decentralization-permitting system such as Mastodon better than those that do not permit decentralization if significant shares of the population using that system use only one host? At that point, the bucket's leaky, but it's still a bucket. & Maybe that's good?

@itsuki Welcome! Hope you have fun. Can I help with any questions you have?
