@freemo Those things have been designed for mineral exploration. BTW you’ll also need a stationary base station which will provide a reference measurement. The difference of the two will be your final magnetic anomaly map, which will be able to display certain ferromagnetic minerals such as pyrrhotite and magnetite. If you’re looking for gold necklaces in the beach, this method might not be what you’re looking for.
Now I want to buy/build a metal detecting drone... I wonder if this can work for small metalic objects. Looks like its geared towards metal deposits
If anyone wants to better understand the effect of space weather on radio propagation this site has a really nice diagram that explains a lot of it (I wish it was more complete though):
So turns out my APRS gateway (HF and VHF) wasnt receiving radio packets on 10 Mhz. Turns out I had the cable wired wrong. Had to rewire a cable with 13 seperate pins and solder it all together. Not fun.. Anyway finally got it all nice and its back on the air.
Seems both Canada and Germany area hearing my radio signal. So good sign. Lets hope I wake up with some HF contacts.
@surasanji I hear blobcat has a matrix server. Any idea what the main room is? I'd like to add it to a list of fediverse oriented matrix rooms im compiling for people.

I love little tidbits like this. Francis Bellamy was also a socialist. While he was hired to help sell flags to schools, which might seem hypocritical based on his politics, he seems to have also genuinely believed the Pledge would help unite working people of the time under a single banner rather than continuing to divide us based on race or nation of origin.
