The main thing we want to do is involve more and more people.

So the social has side has problems. I mean the difficulty is the social side not, the not the technical side, because on behalf of Free Software Community of I India, not me but the people of that, people of that community that I've can help we have run XMPP for like 8 years !

A video about how hearsay or hearing what other people think can make you think +/- about something or someone

+ lots of great quotes in and out of contexts (below)

Main one is:
Do you dislike a person because of listening to what they said and you even tried talked to them a few times directly?
Or are you the type of person to dislikes people based on what someone else said?

Tyranny looks like what is happening now...

The tyranny of Technocrasy or bureaucratic language, of the nimble tip-toe through linguistics, I can't see how that helps anybody...

Own nothing, have no privacy and be happy... Global reset "
(World Economic Forum reset type stuff)

I'm not a fan of disliking somebody because somebody not to like it

Do you really dislike [person] Joe Rogan because of listening to what he said or just because others said something (did you even try talked to them a few times directly?)
Or are you the type of person to dislikes people based on what someone else said?

One of the the main functions of power is to conceal power. There is kinds of a law of history.
If you don't have a lot of power, you try to exaggerate your power
If you have a lot of power you try to conceal it.

" Some people wouldn't trust their "countries" to hold a glass of water for them and certainly would not let their "digital footprint" into a country that has an adversarial stance to its minorities. "

MY COMMENT
🤔 This is exactly the locked-in kinda of DILEMMA starting from at the beginning of joining or at the end in exiting (you or company)

Sub-points of DILEMMA
- Joining dilemma, because your friend is on there and you're not (but probably you want something more from that system also like more friends/sharing/new feature)

- Exiting dilemma,
The company gets take over / bought / closed [GitHub being sold for example or rebranded] and it puts people in jeopardy.

People are expecting more and more to move which is good but still I feel a bit of a surprise is in store... (like where is your data beign stored now do you know? And is Microsoft still a great badge?)
So not hating but while having 'your' material stored away on some servers with 99% uptime, it just takes that business side for it *to go at anytime- down*...

It's fragile basically... or maybe I'm beign alarmist....

Like IF GitHub was for sale...
right....
NOW...

and you didn't know...

... and just found out from a message like this...

... ... ... and they already agreed an offer from Meta / Facebook when you came back from work....

What next?

And where's your code / operations going to go tomorrow?! ! !

" I will still have to use GitHub as I haven't migrated all of my projects away yet, and because many other projects still use and require you to use GitHub for collaboration. I hope that this will improve in the future. "

" Endlessly reading or endlessly posting on social media is also another extreme which won't help... "

" Science is not separate from politics. Similarly technology is not also separate from politics.

And this is the compartmentalisation* that we do.
That is the problem. "

* = A mild state of dissociation
* = Act of distributing things into classes or categories of the same type

" I even stopped convincing privileged people after a time,
I usually go outside my class and try to convince under-privileged people. because there I have more chance of getting the point across."

"And I found in my limited experience, that this is probably true. But they are not in the position to change things, that is another problem. "

For example, when you are taught about greenhouse gases in school, they don't tell you why no action is happening.
The political part is missing.
The thing is science is not separate from politics.
Similarly. technology is also not separate from politics.
And this is the compartmentalisation we do in education. That is the problem.

" We have to be in the government ourselves to make that change... that is what I believe, because now the political situation is so bad "

It's an interesting line, not for everyone perhaps but perhaps just as needed in trying and letting them govern completely unchecked.

" People tend to think other dictatorships are bad, but their own dictatorship would be good. "

Comments welcome.
