The New York Times has published an image that explains the #prorogation of the British #parliament by #BorisJohnson. It‘s 3 days of forced vacation followed by 3 days of distraction plus a block to carry over legislation into a newly defined session. And since the #UK doesn‘t have a #constitution all this is perfectly valid. #BoJo can legally do with parliament whatever he wants. In the UK the leader of the executive also is never elected by legislation, so #Johnson as #primeminister is also valid, and he naturally sees the #houseofcommons as an enemy. A house that by the way only comprises the winners of their constituencies and does not reflect the majorities of the #parties in the #election, anyway. But all this is what they call #democracy and this is why the #Brexit is such a mess. It‘s why there is a brexit #debate at all. Point is, right now, the debate is over. There will be no #newdeal with the #EU and the #maydeal is dead. It‘s #leave with #nodeal or #remain, and the parliament does not want to remain, so there‘s nothing left to debate. It‘s all about the upcoming elections after the #nodealbrexit, already. I really wish the UK would remain in the EU, but that would require a #finalsay in a second #referendum which is not in sight, because there is no agreement on the new #question and no plan what to do with the #answer. The UK is still taken #hostage by it‘s political class like it has been for years, and that makes me deeply sad.

Auf der Vogelsite trendet heute "Islam als Bedrohung". (Es gab wohl gerade eine Bertelsmann-Umfrage dazu.) Dazu habe ich eine Meinung: Ich empfinde jede Religion als Bedrohung. Aber den Islam nicht mehr als andere. Die Frage, ob ich den Islam als Bedrohung sehe, muss ich also mit nein beantworten, da diese Frage auf Bedrohung als Abgrenzung zu anderen Religionen abzielt, was ich äußerst unpassend finde. Zugleich kann ich diese Frage aber doch nicht mit nein beantworten, weil der Islam eben eine Religion ist und ich wie gesagt alle Religionen als Bedrohung sehe. Was nun also? Ja oder nein?
Die Auflösung geht wie folgt: Sie geht gar nicht. Es gibt keine Auflösung, weil die Frage dumm ist. Sie provoziert außerdem die Assoziation mit der in Deutschland ohne Frage in erheblichem Maße stattfindenden politischen Ideologisierung des Islams -- dem Islamismus -- von dem unstrittig eine erhebliche politische Bedrohung ausgeht. Aber es wurde nach dem Islam als Bedrohung gefragt, nicht nach Islamismus. Was ist also damit gemeint? Ob der Islamismus eine inhärente Eigenschaft des nicht-säkularisierten Islams ist? Oder ob er allein deshalb bedrohlich ist, weil er eine (fremde?) Religion ist? Zielte die Frage also bloß auf den Toleranzgrad in der Gesellschaft ab?
Zum Thema Toleranz hätte ich immerhin eine vorgedachte Überlegung parat: Toleranz gegenüber Religion ist auf Individualebene unstrittig geboten, einfach wegen konstitutionell prinzipiell gewollter Religionsfreiheit und überhaupt ganz allgemein aus Gründen der Würde von und des Respekts gegenüber allen einzelnen Menschen. Auf Strukturebene aber ist sie völlig unangemessen, da jede Religion auf die Gesellschaft verheerende destruktive Auswirkungen hat, nicht nur konkret z.B. als wesentlicher bremsender Faktor bei der grundgesetzlich gebotenen Überwindung des Patriarchats, sondern allgemein bei der Behinderung progressiven und aufgeklärten Denkens als Gegenstück zur rückwärts gewandten reaktionären Mythenhuldigung, die Religion und Faschismus gemeinsam haben.
Auf Strukturebene finden Religion und religiöse Ideologisierung von Religion, also auch Islam und Islamismus, in der Tat im Faschistischen zusammen, d.h. es geht ganz eindeutig eine Bedrohung davon aus. Aber das gilt auch für die CSU und für die Werteunion und für die AfD und die FDP. Der Islam alleine fällt als Bedrohung quantitativ nicht mal in diese Liga, weshalb ich zu meiner abschließenden Bewertung komme: Ich sehe den Islam nicht als Bedrohung an. Und das Christentum aus den gleichen Gründen auch nicht.
Man hätte in der Umfrage lieber nach dem Christentum als Bedrohung fragen sollen. Dann wäre auch aufgefallen, welches Unheil allein die Frage anrichtet, wenn man willkürlich irgendwas plakativ in den Kontext einer vermeintlichen Bedrohung rückt. Der Schaden ist dann ja schon durch die Frage da. Und wahrscheinlich war er hier auch gewollt. Aber wer ist da bei Bertelsmann überrascht? Dass die suggestiv agieren und einer eigenen Agenda folgen, ist ja nicht neu. Vielleicht kann ich die Vogelsite auch deshalb nicht mehr ertragen, weil ihre auf Viralgehung getrimmten Mechanismen sich für jeden Mist instrumentieren lassen. Vielleicht sollte ich mir die "Trends" dort einfach gar nicht mehr anschauen.

Unsensibler Rant über den Absturz der Kampfflugzeuge der Bundeswehr.
Ich verstehe die Welt gerade nicht. Soldaten sind bezahlte Killer! Und #Eurofighter sind Mordwerkzeuge! Der Skandal ist hier doch, dass diese Auftragsmörder über unseren Köpfen derart kranke Übungen veranstalten, dass sie dabei ineinander krachen und die Zivilbevölkerung gefährden! Ich finde es obszön, dazu „tiefes Mitgefühl“ auszusprechen bzw. überhaupt zu haben. Mitgefühl habe ich für die Opfer von Soldaten!
I never believed in "Think global, act local". Although that's what I always did. Like never eating meat, never traveling by plane, never using a car for anything that can be done with a bike, etc. I've been doing all that, because I wanted to do anything at all. As a lifestyle. But I think that makes me part of the problem, because "Think global, act local" just doesn't work, and I was always aware of that. It was for my conscience at the expense of the world. A personal lifestyle.
#FridaysForFuture is different. It's about "Talk local, act global" instead of "Think global, act local". If I were an activist of #FridaysForFuture, I would be proud. But I'm just some person who cares but continues to do nothing but thinking. My conscious lifestyle doesn't influence the global act.
So if you're an activist of #FridaysForFuture and somebody tells you that you should change your personal lifestyle instead, or first, that is before you demand global actions, then please don't listen.

Dr. rer. nat. Markus Übel hat mir eine Mail geschrieben. Und ich habe sie auch zur Lektüre genommen. Er prophezeit mir darin das Wetter der nächsten Woche. Toll, was man heutzutage so alles machen kann!
I'm thinking loudly here (while typing and observing what thoughts come out first), because I just learned, that #gab will toss their software away, fork #Mastodon, port some data and bring it up as a "new gab". This move is propably intended to help them federate their servers and to re-enter the #app stores. For example: #Toot! (the app I use for Mastodon) has a setting "Filter awful servers" (explaining that term as "white supremacist server", precisely "Currently, only gab.") which is turned on by default. But by turning it off, the app can be used for gab.
So obviously there will be other counteractivities from the Mastodon #community (besides #filtering within the apps), one of which is most propably massive (transitive) #blocking within the #federation. In https://qoto.org/@goto/102222761174420470 I recently (just two weeks ago) wrote: "I‘m new to Mastodon and haven‘t seen any discussions about free speech yet. But I understand that Mastodon is all about the ability for instance administrators to block entire other instances. It’s all about block chains which are aggregated lists of instances to block passed around between administrators. It’s all about rules about active moderation policies that instances have to implement if they want to be listed on joinmastodon. Effectively those rules include which block chains to use. Essentially Mastodon is all about strategies of forcing free speech instances into isolation. It’s all about collective censorship, because instances give identity and users become invisible in the Fediverse if their instance are put in those block chains due to the activities of other users. Mastodon is about all this being it’s core feature. It has no centralized moderation but it inherently creates social tribes by massive overblocking. It is a tool and a culture designed to quiet people in order to give some the protected space that Twitter can’t and isolate the others into “free speech” instance clusters."
Those were my first thoughts two weeks ago. Today, in the light of gab moving to instances of a forked Mastodon, all these things suddenly seem more like a feature to me than like a defect of the Mastodon culture. Because as a progressive person with an open mind I am well aware that free speech is not possible in infrastructures that allow #fascist #propaganda of that kind. I know, it's hard to draw the line, but it's clear that gab is beyond. (In my eyes, so is almost everything #Trump says, which obviously seems less bad to a lot of people and illustrates the argument that it's hard to draw the line).
Bottom line is: I don't know what to think anymore. Writing this didn't help me at all. At least not yet. I can't get a clear grasp on what I'm feeling about propaganda #censorship. It seems vitally important. And totally wrong at the same time.
