@syscrusher 4040 came after 4004 with 24 spindly legs that could easily bend if you didn't line up just right!

I do NOT miss the old days...

As any other Friday I'm loading up my #Qobuz library with some new album releases for the week. In the specific:

Bill Frisell - Four #jazz
STR4TA - STR4TASFEAR #funk
Plaid - Feorm Falorx #Electronic

Looks like there's an interesting #music weekend ahead!

@april
that does look yummy!
where is my hot steaming cup of coffee or even just glass of milk.

@syscrusher
Wow you were way more advanced than me in the dark ages with 4040! Hand-crafted machine code burned into EPROM. Oh, boy, if that doesn't betray my age...

This is a picture of my dad, one of the founders of the CIA and top advisor to JFK.

Photo's caption, National Geographic April 1968, 1st Lt. Carl M. Freeman III:

"Smiles of welcome light the faces of Mnong women and children at Buon Rocai as Lt. Freeman pays a surprised visit. Devoted to the people's welfare, the American helped reconstruct a bridge and rebuild a burned-out village; with the aid of U.S. Army medic Owen Wright of Dallas, Texas., he expanded medical facilities to treat the sick. After four months of intensive effort, Freeman collapsed of exhaustion and malaria. Now recovered, he commands the Special Forces team at An Lac."

Shall we have a morning #poem to start the day?

Hello from a past embedded software engineer. It's not often that I run into one anywhere. We are a special breed, aren't we?
Rust? Is that a better C? How about Assembler or machine-code? In my retirement days, I'm lazy with Java!

@SETIEric
Wow, IRQ brings back memories; used to write drivers in C.

Good Afternoon.

If you've never treated your ears to The Complete In a Silent Way Sessions can I recommend you correct that?

These recordings from '69 are a transitional period for Davis, they show him moving towards fusion. At the time it was dismissed by critics. It's now considered one of his finest albums.

You can hear the modal jazz slipping into fusion, the repeated patterns clearly influence experimental hip hop and there are elements of #Ambient starting to take shape.

#Jazz

here i'm just rummaging through stuff in a dark attic. while interesting but how do i follow after searching for hashtag like ?

@killyourfm
sounds good!
what kind of steel guitar is that?

I just published a new song... that I wrote in 1995 😂

Ever since then I've tried various ways to give it that louder, more produced "full band treatment." But it always sounds the most honest when it's just me and an acoustic guitar.

So that's how Offering finally greets the world. Stripped down and raw.

It's available to stream + download at #Bandcamp for free, or you can pay any amount.

I hope you enjoy it! 🎸

@Drosmel In college and elsewhere I always loved and cheered when stupid questions were asked. Furthermore, I loved professors and presenters who actively encouraged questions. "Any questions?"

pavowren boosted

I think too that students fear asking questions because they don't want to appear "stupid". In reality other students have the same questions. This is my very first Toot bu the way...

@pandian Many teachers do not instil understanding, only learning facts. Their students cannot reason and take themselves forward and enjoy it.
