#weather San Francisco is freezing. My wife just came back from my son who works there. They have no insulation and gaps in the doors you could spit through. She is much warmer in Toronto.
#physics #australia This doesn't mean anything about future temperature predictions, but it is interesting to note that the tropical belt temperatures are falling faster than any other latitude band. The Pacific continues to take in a lot of cold water and doesn't show any sign of ending the continuous La Nina. If we want to get back to warmth, then this cold feed has to stop. And if Australia wants to dry up a little.
The Gananoque zone of whitel death.
#weather
The snow comes up Kingston and hits the horrible 401 section to Montreal. These conditions of lake effect snow from the SW still give me shudders thinking about it.
Sea levels rise
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/jpl/nasa-study-rising-sea-level-could-exceed-estimates-for-us-coasts
You can see that the sea level at Boston is constantly rising. NASA will bury deep down that 'absolute sea level' is not rising. I always used to call that sea level. I am not stating what is going on here.
State of the oceans update
#weather #climate #australia
I normally wait for the ocean current report, but I won't do video here. La Nina is no longer the little sister and has become bigger than El Nino. That's very sexist, anyway. Continuing to call it La Nina is equivalent to calling an M9 a microearthquake I am constantly looking for any sign that the Pacific Cold Phase is going away. This type of ocean current change can last for decades or centuries. Poor Australians can continue to grow mushrooms in their hair for the next 300 years. I now suspect this sort of thing was behind the Little Ice Age.
Texas earthquake
#earthquake
Just an extension earthquake, but they continue to get bigger and bigger.
Disorganized clippers hit North America. A cold blob heads for Europe.
#weather
Pacific plumes hitting straight north usually give clippers, which are layered cold/hot streams from the NW. Now, we just have 'clipper swirled ice cream' Europe may be at the end of their happiness as a blob is forming, but it has to fight the Atlantic plumes.
Europe is warm
#weather #climate
There are no cold air blobs coming directly down on Europe. They are coming down the Atlantic, and colliding with warm plumes from the Gulf area. This looks to be a stable pattern for a month, as the Pacific plumes are just dumping on North America. The Pacific plumes generally scoop out the Arctic air like ice cream.
Descended from Unix freaks, I evolved to Linux. Some people might consider me old at 60+, but I'm suing the world to get my age down to 30.
I have a blog https://ontario-geofish.blogspot.com/
and it is read by 8 people. My formal education is in an extinct branch of science called geophysics. Since there was no money in it, I went to engineering. I've done tunnels, radwaste thingies, etc.
