Physics weather

The Pacific plumes are holding, as they scoop cold air down on NA. Once the pattern holds, it could stay for a month or two. The Europe cold blob appears to have stopped.

I was awake before the alarm again and I'm not even going into store today (supposed to be day off but Teams meeting - at least it will be in my kitchen for me!) but can't complain too much with this bonus.

Texas earthquake

Just an extension earthquake, but they continue to get bigger and bigger.

Asked the AI to draw me "Clippy goes on a drinking bender"

South Africa rainy

I had looked at the historical records and SA was very rainy during the 70's cold cycle.

They join Australia in the La Nina Follies.

Interesting. There was so little activity this morning that I feared I may have been cancelled. I'll check again tomorrow.

Programming the Game of Earth

All basic physics action is now in games. Nobody bowls, plays billiards, throws snowballs, etc. It's all noses to the screen.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_stre
The Jet Stream is the biggest physics error in conventional weather forecasting. It is plotted with the particle motions of a river, but the particle motions are circular at a tilt. Jet planes can sail this to get East faster. It's like tacking into the wind in a sailboat. This would be an effect when you let your game run, like explosions.

Physics forecast explanation

Game Physics for Weather
Cold blobs and warm ocean plumes can be programmed as objects. They have mass, kinetic and potential energy, and vector momentum. They are the anti-tank missile and the tank. Storms are effects of the two colliding. The Jet Stream is a linear storm and does not provide a force to move objects.

3 month physics forecast

Weak Pacific plumes are allowing a constant pumping of Arctic air down NorAm. In Europe, the new cold air blob continues it's relentless march as the Atlantic plumes run out of steam.

NOAA global temp plots

With the Pacific cold phase firmly entrenched, we have the 1 to 5 year physics forecast as cold for the world. It is fortunate that the temperatures look flat. Looking at past cold cycles, I continue to expect that it will be dropping more.

My daily blogging has transferred to here, for now. I do the larger articles on my blog because I can get more than 2 images. I give Mastodon till Christmas to live. :)

Disorganized clippers hit North America. A cold blob heads for Europe.

Pacific plumes hitting straight north usually give clippers, which are layered cold/hot streams from the NW. Now, we just have 'clipper swirled ice cream' Europe may be at the end of their happiness as a blob is forming, but it has to fight the Atlantic plumes.

This is always the same. ""Somebody higher up got an email and basically clicked a link they weren't supposed to,"
I always found that the 'top egos' always wanted tremendous access while letting their kids play with their laptops.

Montreal earthquake

cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/ea
Earthquakes are my main love, but nothing has really happened over the last 20 years. I'm more interested in mechanisms and effects on structures. This was a common earthquake for the area.

Just got the Christmas decors out with last year's dog hair all over it.

Fusion still decades away.

Drat, there goes my hope to see it before I kick the can. Totally new physics, they are all happy, when they should be saying - f*ck!
As I have said, we have a severe scaling problem and now we have new physics. :) New physics, like new engineering is not a good thing for commercial power.

The question of masks
cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ont

I would put forward a hypothesis that masks will not change any statistics with a general population. China is a fine example. Studies have been done with an uncovered cough, but who does that? Covid comes in through the eyes, so that masking would have to reduce air viruses to zero.
In the mass wearing of masks, people wear them for hours and talk loudly to compensate. The electric charge on the mask fibers is instantly killed by moisture.
Masks work for a short duration in an OR, where everybody talks quietly. I would propose physics tests on particles, and would further check the effectiveness of wrap-around glasses for a significant effect on large numbers.
I am not arguing this, as it seems to be a matter of faith.
