All the cold Arctic air is sliding over to the Siberian side, and there's no news there. So, we have a mild winter -- Yeah!

**Still not seeing a recession** I would have expected to see some sign of it, like all the small businesses in the industrial condos. No house sales in the neighbourhood.

#physics #weather **Cold blobs dead** They've been hit and shattered by ocean plumes. Except the Siberian flow. For a good M9 blob, you need to see powerful laminar flow behind it, and the others didn't have that. Siberia is going to extreme cold. NA has a Pacific plume schlooping over the mountains, so that is warmth.

**US supported drug cartels take over Mexico** The druggies have more money than the army. This all comes from the insatiable demand of US movie stars. It will get to the point that none of us will be able to vacation in the Sun. In Canada, we should legalize opium poppies and coca leaves. That stuff is a wonderful cure, compared to all the substitutes.

#physics **Destructive Resonance Part 2** or organ pipes. This became a billion dollar issue at a nuclear plant. The key to destructive resonance is that the input can tune to the pipe resonance. Just like nuclear plants, the pipe makers would have wanted more sonic volume, while lightening the steel. **Lots of booms!**
The input for the pipe is a thin laminar stream of air onto a knife blade. Normal vibrations would get it going, and then the air stream would waver in time to the resonance. I used to do this to scare the tourists on those wobbly suspension bridges, but the secret was to appear to walk perfectly normally. You would sense the motion and swing in time to the waves going back and forth. Such fun!
On a pipe, the air would feed a pulse into the pipe at the right timing. The only thing stopping destruction would be the natural damping of sound energy exiting, and the flow of the air. That point was only found by blowing things up.

#physics **Organ pipe resonance** Now that I am rolling in the dough, or rolling the dough for pizza, I can go into simple, interesting physics. No need to be controversial.
A organ pipe is a lovely tone. However, it is thought of as a bell, or chime, vibrating when struck. The people who made these things knew different. Organ pipes live on destruction positive-feedback, that could easily blow up pipes. Lucky for us, that only happened with the early pipes in their shops.

#physics #weather **RSS world temp plot down** The big news is the huge dive of the tropics. My hypothesis has an extremely non-linear heat machine in the tropics. Of course, this would need physics funding to measure it, and that's not going to happen. As it is, the people can just stare at the effect of cold blobs and be pacified by jet stream stories. :)

#physics #weather The Siberian spill continues for California, Europe is about to be 'sandwiched' by two cold air blobs. NA has a good blob coming down. The dam has breached and it'll be a cold time in the old town tonight.

**Crash right in front of me** That's traumatic, I just took a big hunk of my cannabis oil. Walking with my dog, and just in front of us, one of the large white SUV's from the rich guys was going through the intersection, slowly. Then a small car zoomed right through the stop sign, and smashed into the side of the SUV without a trace of slowing down. That was an explosive bang that attracted the neighbours. Due to my miserable experience with Toronto police, I said that they won't come unless there is an ambulance. Nobody was hurt. The SUV guy was trying to phone it in, and I said use the words 'dangerous driving' and 'possible impaired'. But I don't think anybody did, and that guy can go on to kill somebody else.

We got an Ammie video caller to talk to the kids in rainy Callie. Ammie's bleeding and it was cheap. However, Alexa has a few screws loose. When asked about the situation with the US House speaker, she quoted some site with 'Nancy Pelosi was elected with a unanimous vote." :) I assume it was a satire site.

**Poots orders things for the Front** But they have no phones. "Hello, hello? Why is nobody answering?"

The chaotic nature of the ocean plumes has zapped me again. I thought it would be a repeat of the NA and Europe Arctic spills. Instead, we have a huge cold air spill through Siberia and into the Pacific Ocean. This is giving California a heck of a time. If you just look at chosen spots, you see a lot of warm weather, and you can make a convincing story that we are having a mild winter.

**Tanks are just memories** This is a heavy tank war, and the West doesn't have any to spare. All the action went into these 'light vehicles' for Afghanistan. In the 70's all the action was into various loser tank designs.

**No heat electric cars** My kids have one of the first Ford electric cars. The range on a warm day is 70km. In winter, at 20 below, with snow on the road, it's about 30, if you turn on the heat. So, they are always freezing in the car. This innovation allows you to be a tiny bit warmer with no heat. I can't drive with a frozen nose. :)

50% of a storm is the cold side. Right now, that's coming down from Siberia and the Alaska spill is still active. Everywhere else in the world, it's just swirly-mucky.

**Scaling Paradise** I am greatly enjoying this slice of paradise, namely qoto. Scaling is a horrible physics concept. It means that the users are increasing exponentially and that moderation efforts can only increase linearly. I once thought there could be a structural thing, that could change the inevitable finale, but I can't think of any. :( It tends to mean that the weeds overwhelm the garden.
