**UK -- No food, no warmth** They are getting hit by a perfect, cold-air gyre. No Beast from the East coming, just the usual Notwarm from the North....

**when you are old, things munch on you** This are warts, pure and simple. If you work on one, then you see classic wart seeds, evenly spaced apart. These are colonies of viruses. I slowly scrape them with a fingernail, but it has to rough and sharp. A little scraping will bring in oxygen, and a bit of blood. Then put Polysporin on it, for the slight pain.
It can take weeks, but they are gone, and their friends will find another spot. I also use Tea Tree Oil, which is the old man's friend. You can scrape them with a drop of this oil, works quite well.

**Screen snowsaver** Or the other way around. Very pretty if you live in the area. Sharpen your shovels, and take baby aspirin for the heart attacks. :)

ps. Turk is exactly the same as the Christchurch NZ earthquakes. That was a basin sinking with jagged faults. You can expect more as it fills out the whole basin. The main lesson there was that a building may look fine, but it collapses with the next smaller earthquake. That's why you should always have accelerometers to see if the building has softened.

**Latest Turk M6+ shows its fault zone** You can see how much smaller an M6 is to near M8's. However, the aftershocks are a straight line. If the rift walls are rigid, then we'll get another one off to the right. Probably in a week or two, and then it should tail off.

**Limits to hypersonic missiles** Travelling at M9, they have to put on the brakes to get a target lock.

However, the missile may be 'vaporware'.

**Storm about to hit Toronto** You can see the full energy feed, as the cold collides with the warm.

**Building collapses without an earthquake** That takes some doing....

**Wild winds for Toronto** I was just out, walking the dog. She did not appreciate the dust storms where they had a water main break last week. Blah. This energy comes from the warm Pacific and Gulf air meeting the cold.

**Don't buy that whiskey!** It's all the rage in California. We got some for our Callie kids when they came home. A few steps down from Musk, but it's straight from the still. Burns like a sun of a glitch all the way down, and then explodes.

**Water runs out for Arizona** I remember 30 years ago in university that they predicted this -- too many people and no water. However, everybody is falling over themselves saying 'there is no signature of climate change' whatever that means.

**Thrust at termination of rift** This indicates a very messing ending of the rifting for the large quake. Thrusts give the highest pgv pulses with the most damage. This is a classic '10 years of terror' scenario. I was expecting a large cross-fault like the upper fault to dissipate the end stresses.

** Due to the Pacific air rolling over NA, everybody is saying what a mild winter we've had in Toronto. However, that air usually attacks the Arctic air mass, and it hasn't. The Arctic air is going back to 60 below, and so we'll have a very long winter.

**Classic Pacific Pinwheel** This pattern of the Pacific plumes always brings up warm air from the Gulf. This clashes with all the cold air and makes for a good snow storm in Toronto.

**State of the Oceans**

A small chance that the Pacific cold phase is slowing down, but it still will be cold until the end of the year. I hope it switches for my Tahiti trip.

**M6.4 collapses more buildings** This was an absolute certainty that there would be an earthquake here. Accelerometers are the best to tell how close a building is to collapse.

**New earthquake where I thought there was a stress imbalance** This is thrust in a rift, so I am flabbergasted. If it extends left and right, then it is what I predicted.

**Tahiti** Anybody know anything about travel there? Looking for a catamaran and hotels in September. Many thanks. First big trip after Covid.... Yeah!
