The Anchorage horizontal accelerations are coming in at .8 g. No velocities yet. That's huge for soil.
Earthquake -- Anchorage is at the end of a magnificent back arc rift. The M7 is at the end of it. This is the initiation point for a possible M8. God speed to the residents.
I also called all the US earthquake people a bunch of idiots, as per Sheldon.

Natural gas futures curve. All the money for futures is in the winter. Nobody cares about Spring.
Natural gas storage (USNE) is lowest in years. Futures are way up, but if they thought the US would run out of stored gas, then I would expect the futures curve to rise in Feb or Mar.

Today we discuss the Lapse Rate. This is what they measure with all those weather balloons. It is quite easy to run a model to see if the lapse rate is consisten with convection heat loss, or radiation. NASA is 100% for radiation (greenhouse effect). Who is the winner? I'm not saying for fear of muck.
