A valid point, and ultimately if I don't like Gitea after I check it out, I will admittedly self-host gitlab's CE. Ideological purity isn't quite *that* important to me
til both github and gitlab are explicitly ok accepting blood money from ICE. A quick google search suggest Gitea isn't as soulless, so guess it's time to check that out
