Disney has yet to create a unrated(ratedR would be watering it down) movie worthy of the former Spawn character, because that would be like mixing Doomguy and WinnieThePooh.
There really was no point to that acquisition- except maybe by happenstance.
@Nujtag
Yeah... It could be a lot worse though. I know several who lost their job, house, family and their freedom all in one week from stupid decisions.
Feeling bad for a few days isn't as bad as feeling bad the rest of your life.

I'm preeeetty sure the movie has very little- I'd any at all to do with the books. (Refer to attached pic of my books).
That being said, there are frequent references to the books- but ultimately went in a while different direction and story from the books.
Furthermore, if you like the movie but don't want to read the books- check out the awesome comics!!!

It's a luxury that will hurt you in the long-run. Use it for free if you need to, but don't depend on it in order to make a successful product.

#TIL The HTML <blink> tag was just a joke. Netscape got the idea from a chat, "what special effect is possible for browsers on a Unix terminal?" Lou Montulli (Lynx author) joked "blinking text". Another implemented it as an Easter egg. And everything went out of control later...
> [...] blinking was constrained only to the UNIX version, but it didn't take long [...] to spread [...]. I remember thinking that this would be a pretty harmless easter egg, that no one would really use it, but I was very wrong. When we released Netscape Navigator 1.0 we did not document the blink functionality in any way, and for a while all was quiet. Then somewhere, somehow the arcane knowledge of blinking leaked into the real world and suddenly everything was blinking. "Look here", "buy this", "check this out", all blinking. Large advertisements blinking in all their glory. [...]
> In the end, the thing that I am truly sad about, is that Lynx never did get to blink.
