@lupyuen found it way at the bottom of the blog.

Mwmbl is pronounced “mumble”, and no, it’s not English, it’s Welsh (kind of). And no, we’re not going to change the name because you don’t like it or can’t remember how to spell it.

@lupyuen I had the only Firefox OS Nexus 5 which supported the LED for notifications. I ran a Micropython on the device and wrote this teensy web server:

It also supported torch mode!

@grayrattus

Industry will argue that essentially the same software is used elsewhere... bla bla bla...

In principle, I agree with you, but in practice I don't see it happening.

However, reverse engineering is considered illegal, and that is probably the way to go. Imagine being sued for reverse engineering to save people's lives... Any judge/jury will have a hard time to rule against that.

@lupyuen

@lupyuen I think every proprietary project which has been disconnected should share their code + schematics of hardware. Same should be happening for automotive industry and home appliances.

@lupyuen amazing that anyone would ever think otherwise.

g++ needs about 4GB per invocation. So you've got this cool 8 or 16 thread CPU but you can only compile software with `make -j2` ? What a waste of CPU cores.

@lupyuen @AmpBenzScientist It has always been somewhat daunting when I have to solder through-hole components. Soldering surface-mount components with paste and hot plate is actually much less stressful. Learning to use kicad was also totally worth it.

The #Ox64 #riscv dev board (and a Pinecil) showed up today from Pine64. Will have to give it a try tonight. Excited to play with hardware again.
