@freemo
@freemo @MominRasool ok then :)
@freemo @MominRasool Disney’s super brutal with their copyrights you know 🙃
@QuantumHemp he just came back from Russia on the day fb banned him. Haha Russian own social network :)
This’s funny.
“Zu Gar Vet Ga nat who trumps Green Lion.”
Green lion refers to 1000 kyats Burmese bank notes which are slightly green. Nat is a Burmese spirit. #Zuckerberg ‘s name is written in Pali script, like other Burmese nats’ names. #Facebook https://qoto.org/media/veQjAK_9xhRnlBykdW0

@freemo Haha I’m just pissed that the Viber group I joined for skincare has gone off topic and became flooded with “Have you eaten?” “Where’re you from?” “What’re you doing?”! If I were a moderator of the group, I would have gave a warning and kick out ppl who’re doing small talk. Can’t see the helpful messages anymore.
@pitermach @talon @erion I rarely use reddit web on my mac but the mobile reddit’s pretty bad too. All I want to do is edit my flairs and the new reddit on safari is so badly optimized I’ve to switch to old reddit. Today’s mobile update brought editing flairs in the official app, thankfully.
@Surasanji I haven’t used fb since last December either. Their moderation system is pretty wobbly either way.
@freemo it’s harder to find than I thought. 😅 Maybe something like this? The donation blackboards are particularly written more cursively and with longer tail to attract people who’ll donate so https://farm6.static.flickr.com/5546/9487971130_2eb3be4975_b.jpg The text will normally look like this “အလှုခံဌာန”
@Surasanji The dude rarely posts anything hateful though; just donations to monks posts, his activities and military operations. There’re a lot of pages out there(from both sides) promoting hate speech than him. Well, fb can ban anyone controversial if they want to, it’s their platform but I’ve a feeling it’s not going to end well.
@freemo well, calligraphy isn’t popular in Myanmar.Maybe if you want to see a very large number of Burmese text, you can go to Burmese versions of news sites like burma.irrawaddy.com, myanmar.mmtimes.com or frontiermyanmar.com/mm Burmese text posted by users on internet mostly show question mark boxes because they aren’t using standard unicode font but a font called Zawgyi which doesn’t properly render(what I posted earlier on mastodon are with unicode and the news sites’re viewable either way
@Demo318 @commandelicious I first learned about Hitler and Nazis through the book about his lover Eva. I don’t think it’s a good book but nevertheless pretty interesting to me because internet was banned that time and the only source about Nazis is from that book. No worries I’ve pretty much looked up on Wikipedia after I finally accessed the internet.
@Demo318 @commandelicious I don’t really know much europe history. Even the Nazis and Hitler are like footnotes in my school textbooks. 😶 There’re even people out there who dress up as Nazis in Thingyan because they don’t know how bad Nazis are and associate them as cool. That book looks like an interesting read though.
@Demo318 Usually from my mom. She uses fb and relays to me the news even though I said I don’t want to hear the extra tips bits and I fill in the rest of the stories from 7daydaily.com. The site’s pretty good for local news and crime but a bit biased towards pro-myanmar. I usually visit irrawaddy.com and mmtimes.com for more unbiased news.
@spinflip Weird... I don’t know since when or why but I usually associate communism with something bad. Idk probably influenced by school history I’m taught.
