Instead of dealing with all the many things I was supposed to deal with when I got home (like the broken car), I went snowshoeing in the woods with the dogs. No idea how I'm going to make tomorrow work in any way logistically, but the walk was pretty nice!

Capitalism is a kind of economy, free market is an economic policy applied to a capitalist economy.
You can have a socialist policy and the economy would still be capitalist.

Before Christmas I told my 10 *Master's* students to bring printouts of 5 pages from their thesis and a copy of their bibliography for a few rounds of discussion in our seminar. They were to bring 3 colored markers with them. And a pen.
After New Year's I sent an email to all detailing what they were to bring with them this morning.
How many needed to use my copy card to print something out this morning? 3
How many needed to use the markers I schlepped with me? 4
We haven't started the round with the pens, I have 6 with me, just in case.
Should I have maybe made a TikTok video of me dancing around a printer with a necklace of pens and markers, or how do I get students to bring the correct materials to class with them? I've only been teaching for 30 years and I am stumped.
