Just remembered that 'Byte' existed thanks to a newer wave of registrations. Explicitly created by ex-Vine people, the new name (un)intentionally bites ate the TikTok chinese parent company Bytedance. And of course it's another closed off, walled garden of sub-15 second clips. Only now it's back to the 6/7 second original. Though I suspect they may have knocked it down a second for the 'byte' name. Still another shallow data silo. Doubt that it will last before 2023 ends. It will be bought up and dried out a la Vessel or Minus.
Imagine what could have been done if instead of only limiting it to a hard limit of seconds, it was just a strict file size limit instead. One could give users a graphic visualizer for how much your file uses out of it.
