Will 2020 be the year the #fediverse finally gets a Groups feature on most platforms?

It'd be a huge feature advantage over platforms like Twitter.
Okay, this channel is kind of amazing. It's not perfect...but it gets a lot of things right.

@Locksmith @nothingplanet @SheChanges Yeah, something about racism and sexism against white men counteracting previous racism and sexism perpetrated by white men.

People ask, "am I good enough". Dangit, you better be good enough, you're the only you you've got. By default you're the best.

The real question is "how do I get better".

Because any good person can become bad, and any bad person can become worse.

Our world is filled with complicated problems, and if we keep twisting ourselves in knots over something somebody did to us years ago, we'll never be able to properly address them.

Speaking partially to myself here.

This should be troubling because as a collective society we should already be past asking questions of "do I need to treat people nicely even if we disagree on one or two topics" or "why can't we kill babies".

@Locksmith @nothingplanet @SheChanges I mean we gotta give the people what they want, right? 💁🏾‍♂️

Wew the lack of muting options here sure is opening my eyes to who I need to stop following.

I can't mute words or retweets on Misskey and I think I might hate all of you now that I've been exposed to the real Fedi.

@J That's often what I do. But I don't give a lot of advice, in fact I cringe when I have to.

What I like to do is, ask the person questions that have them thinking about what they haven't considered before. In many cases, they will see things differently if they're allowed to explore them in a unique way, and largely on their own.

I can shout at someone to not overeat. Or, I can ask them why they overeat, do they think overeating is good, do they want to stop.

If you define yourself via group identity, instead of finding individual identity in who you are, you will probably live a largely miserable and tiresome life of constantly chasing and living up to the stereotype of your chosen group.

Everyone's different, that doesn't mean we have to hate each other.
