Watch "Ricky Gervais REFUSES To Apologize To Woke Leftists, DOUBLES DOWN Even As They Try To Get Him Fired" on YouTube - https://youtu.be/lcaDzHHVlpc
@design_RG It hangs and then returns a 503 message. It's been doing that for months now, I think.
Reminder about the time Squiddy spammed the Spinster email server with hundreds of threatening messages and then bragged about it on her Free Speech Extremist account. The post is still there: https://freespeechextremist.com/notice/9oZoEZE8spbx5IUQaG
I don't make any moderator decisions regarding Spinster. I just develop the software and maintain the server infrastructure. However, the mod team asked me for my opinion about whether they should ban Squiddy a few months ago. I said "I don't think we should ban her." That was the end of my involvement in that discussion.
Not only was the all female mod team NOT corrupted by my presence, they actually decided to do the OPPOSITE thing of what I suggested. I support their decision.
The idea that I'm a powerful figure who deserves to be toppled is laughable. I don't even have an apartment.
I think maybe it's because she has made a name for herself this way, and changing directions would be hard. It would require self-reflection. But all she's ever done is doubled down.
Unfortunately, a lot of people still believe the lies people have spread about Spinster, that it's "right wing" or that "the admin is a homophobe." This has left lasting damage on Spinster's reputation, which will make it harder to defeat Facebook and Twitter.
This is partially my own fault for not being more vigilant, but I think Squiddy and her posse share a significant part of the blame. This is why I think her motivation is not really in the best interest of feminism, but because she just wants to take Spinster down a peg.
I don't know exactly why she wants this. I know she's a legitimate female person, a self-proclaimed feminist, and not a TRA, but she has sure made it her mission to make the lives of other feminist organizers hell.
@alex Interesting, I have been too busy to follow all of this.
Have you left Spinster, then?
By this point I felt hurt by Squiddy, but I didn't (and don't) hate her. I wanted the best outcome for Spinster and the feminist community. I spent 2 days writing an article about how to launch your own Fediverse server in a step-by-step guide with screenshots to make it as easy as possible.
I wrote this guide for Squiddy, so she could launch her own server. I thought that people who disagreed with the way Spinster ran things could just run their own server. Despite the fact I was trying to help them, they continue to antagonize me to this day and blame me for anything that's wrong.
There are people who could be allies with us, but because of the moves they've made, have positioned us as enemies.
I did help assemble the initial mod team on Spinster. Glitches and I became quick friends, and I was sad to see her being bullied by some other users. We sent her messages of support, and I publicly supported her. When she applied to be a mod it was a no-brainer. I wanted to empower her and help us run the site. I hoped that being a mod would also help legitimize her to the community, so she'd be a person others respected.
Things didn't work out, and she deleted her own account. We listened to her concerns, but ultimately disagreed with her. Squiddy caught onto this and started posting "expose" articles about how "Spinster doesn't care about lesbians" in response. Glitches completely turned on us in the course of a day, from an ally to an enemy. She had been extremely open about her mental illness since day 1, and I guess we were just seeing a part of it come out. There's a bad taste in my mouth now, but I don't dislike Glitches. I considered her a friend and I'm sad things turned out the way they did.
Squiddy went on to defame us repeatedly, posting out of context screenshots and adding her own narration without speaking to anyone on the Spinster team. The mods allowed it to go on for weeks, in the name of "free speech," but when she leaked messages from a private chatroom to shame and antagonize us, the mods felt she had gone too far. I didn't agree with the mods initially, but I do think they made the right call now.

Matthew 22:37-39 is my mantra:
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
But Phillipians 4:4 is my favorite verse of all time:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
