@realcaseyrollins I think that Android has the potential to be more secure than iOS. For one, iOS is proprietary, which is inherently insecure because you can't know what it's doing. Android is open source, so you can verify the way it works.

Android's security issues aren't with Android itself, but with the phone manufacturers. Since it's open source, manufacturers can do whatever they want to it before shipping it on your phone. By contrast iOS is centralized to Apple, so Apple can put top-notch security on every iPhone. I feel that it's like comparing apples to oranges.

@design_RG Quite interesting, and not quite what I was expecting either. It does seem to be "Gab lite", with mostly conservatives like Gab, but no Nazis.

I was thinking that it might serve as a nice Gab alternative. I'd never tell anyone to join Gab, but I could possibly recommend this instance as a good place to go for Gabbers looking to leave but worried if they might get banned from other instances.

@realcaseyrollins social.quodverum.com/ is a very insular instance -- to a quite extreme degree, as shown by this stats screen capture.

98.2% of all posts originated in the instance are for people in the same instance. Gab's number is just about 1% worse.

@Anubiss @stirringthepot @realcaseyrollins However, @Apple has been AWFUL when it comes to patching known and fixable security vulnerabilities

@stirringthepot @realcaseyrollins @realcaseyrollins the Mac and iPhone are the not as popular to attack BECAUSE there are less of them. Windows owns 90% of the market, hackers spend theier energey where they will get the biggest bang for thier time & trouble. Yrs agoCharlie miller ex-nsa tao developer won many bug bounties for windows. The whitched over to hack MAC to proove wrong the thought that MAC was more secure. He won bug bounties for years and years then stopped /because it was too easy/. He has been hacking cars for that past 3-4 yrs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_

@realcaseyrollins secure against what ? For what purpose ? They are both ownable via SS7 attacks...the entire cell network is. so its really a moot issue until SS7 goes away forever.

The most idiotic lunacy from the anti-free speech crowd is painting those who support true free speech and somehow being acolytes, sympathizers or even supporters of the hateful groups.

It takes a certain level of IQ and honesty to admit the difference between "people should be allowed to say such and such" and "people should say such and such." Which I actually touched on, on my most recent video where two 15 y/o girls were doxxed and basically internet mobbed for the crime of using the n word while white, or, for the african-american victim, condoning the behavior.

QuodVerum seems like an interesting instance.

However, the rules on their home page contradict themselves:

"We welcome all ideas and opinions, and will exercise minimum moderation only when we believe laws are being broken...But our platform is not a launching pad for criminal activity, harassment or the promotion of violence or bigotry in any form, against any one."

You cannot accept "all ideas and opinions" and ban hate speech at the same time. Why?

1) Many opinions and ideas are either hateful and/or bigoted (if wildly unpopular)

2) "Hate speech" is loosely defined; what's acceptable now may be "hate speech" tomorrow.
