I enjoy things around information theory (and data compression), complexity theory (and cryptography), read hard scifi, currently work on weird ML (we'll see how it goes), am somewhat literal minded and have approximate knowledge of random things. I like when statements have truth values, and when things can be described simply (which is not exactly the same as shortly) and yet have interesting properties.
I live in the largest city of Switzerland (and yet have cow and sheep pastures and a swimmable lake within a few hundred meters of my place :)). I speak Polish, English, German, and can understand simple Swiss German and French.
If in doubt, please err on the side of being direct with me. I very much appreciate when people tell me that I'm being inaccurate. I think that satisfying people's curiosity is the most important thing I could be doing (and usually enjoy doing it). I am normally terse in my writing and would appreciate requests to verbosify.
I appreciate it if my grammar or style is corrected (in any of the languages I use here).

@WPalant I thought a common argument was "They are likely to fail to make something better while succeeding at making it appear better".
@isomer My teapot (or rather kettle that doubles as teapot) alerts me when it's done brewing.
@8petros Quite a few states allow for mailing or dropping ballots off earlier, which makes that simpler to accomplish.
Oh, and the onsen didn't object to presence of people with tattoos?

Z jedną rzeczą z twojej polemiki się nie zgadzam: komuś kto nie wierzy argumentom z racjonalnych metod kształtowania punktu widzenia nadal pozostaje obserwacja i/lub własne doświadczenie.
Czy masz gdzieś pod ręką opis tego, co dokładnie rozumiesz pod pojęciem siatki odniesienia? (Jeśli dobrze pamiętam, czytałem co pisałeś o hobby jakiś czas temu, jeśli to pomaga.) Pytam w sumie dlatego że wydaje mi się, że traktujesz tekst, który podlinkowałem, jako bardziej instrukcję stosowania techniki wpływania na innych niż opis zjawiska społecznego/psychologicznego, przeciwnie do mnie. Ciekaw jestem skąd się bierze ta różnica.
Disclaimer: my preference for minimal terminals is weak (and doesn't apply to some classes of features: I dislike features on the "input" side but don't mind weird features on the "output" side).
Often I use the same machine both over its own keyboard and screen and over ssh, so I want consistency between the two. For some terminal features that would only require me to have the same terminal with same configuration on both sides (which is doable, but in some cases annoyingly onerous to maintain). Some features, such as tabs, are strictly worse than using something underneath (e.g. tmux) in such a setup, so I don't want to use them at all. I then don't want them to (a) take up screen space (b) be an attractive nuisance.

Wspominam o tym, bo może on wyjaśniać podobne zachowania nawet bez prób wymuszania bezrefleksyjnego posłuchu ze strony kierownictwa (pracownik może myśleć, że istnieje jakiś powód dla którego winniśmy nie mieć tu psa, nawet jeśli go nie zna).
@psn Re why: isn't the subsidy for the party dependent on the fraction of the votes cast for that party? If so, there's monetary sense in having a candidate in every <insert name of appropriate territorial unit>.

Actually, https://manpages.debian.org/testing/git-lfs/git-lfs-config.5.en.html describes a bit more of how lfs finds the correct remote. It seems to be settable per branch, but I don't get how the default heuristics work.
You might wish to set `lfs.remote.searchall` git config element to true. I've learned that by finding https://github.com/git-lfs/git-lfs/blob/main/config/config.go#L227
If you have floating point values that you process, often they come from some noisy measurement, and then you can't avoid understanding numerical stability regardless of how you process them, which is only a small step from thinking of numerical stability of various steps of computation separately, as if noise was added everywhere inbetween (which is often a good enough approximation of what FP does).
