Day #039 of #100DaysToOffload and I recall Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn Harvard commencement speech.
Day #038 of #100DaysToOffload and I reflect that at times, discretion is the better part of valour.
@basil I used OpenTasks in conjunction with NextCloud when I was on Android. But found it was a little clunky when compared with something like Wonderlist or Microsoft To Do. But if you can forgive it some quirks...
Day #037 of #100DaysToOffload and I muse on pay-per-degrees and declining literacy in academia.
uBlock Origin ad blocker now blocks port scans on most sites
Day #036 of #100DaysToOffload and I wonder if we have really reformed the pocket boroughs of old.
@freddyym almost inevitable really. FB made tracking you their core business, so it was inevitable they would expand the tracking. Brave put ‘rewards’ front and centre and that inevitably leads to more and more ‘creative’ ways to get you to use referral links.
@design_RG @freemo yes, it is a concern if your third most tending topic has 0 people talking about it. 🙃
Day #035 of #100DaysToOffload and I remember those who served #onthisday in 1944 and went 'Into the Jaws of Death'.
Day #034 of #100DaysToOffload and I am updating my plank.
@freddyym now that is committent to digital privacy! Even you can't read it. 😉
Hope you get it sorted though... that does look broken.
PrivacyTools has updated their DNS page to the new card style!

@mike Yes, code and live side-by-side is something that is growing on me. It was initially what put me off Joplin and use Standard Notes, but there too the layout is increasingly appealing.
@mike thanks for the share. Always like seeing the tools people use and how they use them. Your post had me installing both Ghostwriter and Typora for testing. Think Typora is going to win for me though and might even replace my current Apostrophe. Love that Typora let’s you edit markup in live preview!
Day #033 of #100DaysToOffload and I consider Isaac Newton and the case of the dangling toad.
@freddyym haha! I have justed switched from Joplin. I was about to say it is because I am more comfortable with the Standard Notes layout, but I just checked the new version of Joplin with the experimental WYSIWYG editor. Once that goes into a stable release, this writer may be switching again, though it would mean continuing to maintain a NextCloud instance... Oh well.
But I still stand by the SN manifesto article. 🙂
Day #032 of #100DaysToOffload and I take notes no one is watching.
Day #031 of #100DaysToOffload and I cheat a little by quoting from Letters of Note. But the quality of the prose presented will, I am sure, repay my transgression.
@freddyym @yarmo I have never been to Brazil, but I have a number of Brazilian friends and they all left because of what Freddy notes, and more. I think Brazil has an amazing future, but it has a long, dark tunnel to get there. If you move now, I think your quality of life would likely take a turn for the worse, but that would be balanced by the knowledge you would be playing a part in making the country better.
So I think the real question is: are you at a time in your life when your are strong enough for the fight or do you need a little more recovery time? For no matter how much love we have, there are times to self-heal and times to use our strength to help others to heal.
