Will your Gmail account work in Thunderbird at the end of this month, when Google switches to mandatory OAuth 2.0 authentication? YES!
Thunderbird 91.8.0, released 5th April 2022, converts Gmail accounts to OAuth 2.0 automatically. But there are rare cases where the migration might fail (for example, if you've told Thunderbird to reject cookies).

@trinsec email is a federated service, with many small players and a few big ones, eg Gmail, Hotmail/Live/Outlook, etc.
The fediverse is federated social media, where even the largest are small. If Twitter supported ActivityPub - i.e. accounts can directly follow twitter accounts and vice-versa that would be good.
It would also be the largest instance by a long way.

Five moneylenders in the City of Copper Bowls formed this guild under the guise of a shrine to Belpheromas, demon of gold and contracts.
Unfortunately for them, Belpheromas chose to take it at face value and "helped" enforce their contracts.

@hamishcampbell actually, I would say the power/value is in the distributed / decentralised network. No one admin/instance controls the network, and neither does one dev team, with multiple ActivityPub implementations. You need all categories (software, instances, users), but all are decentralised.
@vsaw I might sometimes post about IoT, usually a notification for a blog article.
@matrix@mastodon.matrix.org weird that I hear about this via a repost from @Matrix, from a twitter post...

It's been an amazing week for Mastodon! Our network has gained 141K active users this week, and 176K this month; our iOS/Android apps have risen through the ranks on the app stores, and the EU launched their own Mastodon server!

The first #Artwork i did in early 2019 for #Cyberpunk Red. I was really excited to work on the project and had so much fun with this :D also went a bit over the top, result being: Parts of this were used as the cover for the Jumpstart Kit.🥳

@anarchotaoist correct. Democracy is the game theory optimal solution for might-makes-right. Instead of two sides actually fighting, with many unnecessary deaths, simply count how many of each side and the smaller number agrees to submit.
