@gpowerf does "sensitive content", mean that I could be offended by the content, or that the content could possibly be offended by seeing me? 😁
@snuffleorc Clever clever man.
@mrvanloh ooooohh yup, got it. 👍 Thank you much captain 😌
@mrvanloh I thought brownian motion also affected particles of the same size, which is why they're always moving, sort of bouncing off each other. The repellent force of electrons. I would think as they bounced around, it would create variations in the different densities as well. Electricity always chooses the path of least resistance, in this case the denser groups of water. The ocean is a bad example because it's moving so much. I would think it could be proven with extremely high low amperage and high voltage terminal connected to a slide of water under the proper microscope. If I had them I'd do it. Might prove helpful in superconductor development.
@mrvanloh does brownian motion affect lightning when it strikes the ocean?
@mrvanloh or do both, some species migrate quickly, some wait for their friends, and some barf, and then eat the barf. Have a good weekend!
@lazzarello Welcome!, sweet job, I bet it's pretty challenging. I wouldn't call myself a software engineer, but I write algorithms for peanuts. Lots of peanuts. I'd be too terrified working for a space company though. People's lives at risk and all. Anyways welcome to Qoto.org! You'll fit right in here 😁
@lukecao ah, you're the guy who's fiddling for the scorpion in the basket of cobras 😁. If you find it, comment it.
@snuffleorc got any factual characters that describe you?
@frankbarrylong I agree completely about the h1b guys. As a business owner I'm wary of employees that aren't loyal, or can't take a joke, or too sensitive about stuff. That's toxic to a business. If your employees are chill about anything, and believe in the company, that's great for business. He pays extremely competitively, and gives bonuses to hard workers. But if you're getting paid salary and there's urgent work that needs to get done and you whine about it. You'll never get promoted anywhere, and when it's time to thin the herd, you're going to be the first one fired. We are all entitled to our opinions, even those we don't like. We can toot about it all day long. One time I had an employee complain about my practices. I told him ok, start buying stock from me, I pay you enough. He bought a tiny amount, not even enough to vote on anything yet. But the moment I did, I treated him to lunch and asked him what can I change about my practices because I knew he cared about my business. I don't care if he cares about me, but now I need to care more about him. Just cause Mr. Musk is all over the media doesn't mean we know him enough to judge him. He's managed to earn the right to decide who he's going to pay. To say we know who people really are and what they're doing is like watching YouTube videos about physics and going to a nuclear power plant and start giving them advice, it might be ok but it's a bad idea. 😂 Hey I'm sorry for the rant, I hope you have a great weekend!
@users fun fact: the expression "to the moon" is used instead of "to the sun" because that would mean certain death.
@taz hey don't forget, you can use agile to jump off a cliff, it will just be well planned, executed, and documented. 😂
@ElemWiz An autistic (socially challenged) guy buys a social network, and it tanks. I'm not surprised. However, this is the guy who slept on factory floors till problems were fixed. He also has the resources to be patient. AOL was formerly Quantum Computer Services. I don't think Elon did this for the lols though. I think he did it for the reasons he said he would, and didn't realize that drastic quick changes would shock the users. He's used to walking on stage and showing something extreme and the crowd going wild. But doing that to something that's already in people's homes is a different matter entirely. It's the same as if you've bought a car, drove it for a years, and the manufacturer comes by and says, "we're gonna completely modify your car". While the small percentage of car modification enthusiasts, are excited, the rest are kinda angry or worried. While evolution is a good thing, rapid evolution usually is catastrophic, especially when forced. I'm just speculating here, but I think Elon is ripping it all apart and going to build something brand new with the pieces, and whatever that is will probably be pretty awesome and it won't be forced on anyone. Again, this is speculation, but if we don't speculate, we'd be walking into walls.
Hey man, sorry for the tooooooooot 🤣
Have a great weekend.
#confession: When I discovered Mastadon, I immediately searched who owns it, to try and buy their stock. I'm still disappointed in myself, and that I can't.
@CrashandCern I never used it, I'm here cause I like here. But I seriously doubt it's going to completely die. It's valuations will drop, and if he believes he can't save it, he'll IPO it, or sell it to another company. I'm thinking IPO. If he retained some stock, it would sky rocket in value, and he would mitigate his losses nicely. But also, he can afford to trial and error till he gets it right. However if Mastadon developers work fast on UI/UX, I believe the platform won't just retain Twitter users, but harvest from Facebook and the like quickly, as they are draining users quickly too. I've been quietly developing a peer-to-peer Mastadon calls / streams application to add some missing magic.
@Decad3nce nonono The homeless can keep warm in the winter with the dumpster fire, it has social value. Have a great weekend.
I'm an aspiring human being who loves all things logical and clean. I love programming and analytics. I also like dairy products and surfing. Although they're not clean. So I guess I'm a hypocrite too. I extrapolate when I'm bored. I've been told I should contribute more to society, so if you feel you can improve my understanding of anything, please do so.
