**I have a job now!**
I'm a Chinese shitizen, but I generally don't post in Chinese to avoid being suffering from other Chinese.
I'm physically a male, but I don't care how people think about my gender. I can be male, or female, or cat. But if you ask, I'd prefer to be referred to as male. Also, I support LGBT+ people, and I'm a copyleft. I don't think I'm too aggressive in arguing things, but sometimes I do. You should handle it with care.
I post about programming (most time is Java and Kotlin, unless I have a new love), and some random things I find interesting. I also post about my mental health, which is in a stable state of instability, thanks to my parents and Chinese society.

Had a lot of things wanting to say, but I ultimately forgot them when I couldn't spill them out during the maintenance of qoto.
I still don't think I'm a mastodon user several days ago, until I noticed qoto is down and I have nowhere to post my words. Rethink a bit, and I realized that qoto has become my major platform to spill out words. And I'm feeling comfortable with that. What a luxury.
(I just remembered I still have no update for my blog for this month. And the clock is ticking)
One of my friends said, "Describe your life in another language, and you will realize how ridiculous it is." I didn't believe it until today. I'm kinda explaining what life looks like in China. It's pretty normal in Chinese words, but when you have to find those words to represent those Chinese only things, it becomes ridiculous.
For example, the house price. There is no land price in China since by law all lands are government properties and they lend the land to you because you buy a house. And the household registration thing, we called hukou (there is an entry on Wikipedia for this term), it basically limits the freedom of moving to a city. You must bond to a city/place before you can live. The bond requires government approval. Not mention the already scary thing, like during the covid19, the police will break into your house and force you to be isolated, not because you're affected but because they think you're suspicious.
That sentence might not always be correct. Sorry for my limited knowledge, but I assume if you live somewhere like Europe, then your life is not ridiculous at all. One's life won't become ridiculous just because they use different languages to describe. It sounds ridiculous because it's ridiculous. They just didn't notice that in their native/local language.

#QOTO update.
So I went to bed last night and work up to find the sidekiq workers were backlogging and we have 800K backlogged jobs. It was due to a misconfiguration that I have now fixed and it appears the backlog is quickly resolving itself.
If you noticed any weirdness this should be resolved int he next few hours as the backlog clears.

找到了我刚来广州差点被骗的一条博文
朋友们，我刚刚中了一个平板。
在来广州后的第二天。
这个事情是这样的，我今天下了地铁在地铁口被一个联通的工作人员拦下来说帮忙扫个二维码，我扫了他就可以早点下班。是顺手的事情我就扫了，扫完打算走他又要我点链接进去抽了一个奖，我就抽了一下，看到结果是一个平板的领取名额我想着大概又是什么说是什么中奖但事实上是让你以优惠价格购买的鸡肋奖项就立马打算走人了，结果那个让我扫码的工作人员看了眼我的抽奖结果突然就很激动地扯住了我，问我是不是我自己抽到的，说是特等奖项，免费领取，为了确保不是bug还让我用剩余的抽奖机会再抽了一次，看到结果不一样以后立马满脸喜意地恭喜了我，说这是特等奖项，他也是第一次碰到，只要我的芝麻信用超过六百分没有违规记录的话，我去他们店里登记一下信息就可以立马免费领取智能平板一台。他开了个小电驴，我看他穿的确实是联通的工作服，应该确实是工作人员，表现得激动确实也不像是作假的样子，想着去看看也没什么坏处就跟着去了。
到了店里面以后，是一个手机店，有其他的工作人员出来和我核对信息以及进行沟通，然后我了解到这是三大运营商做的一个活动，目的是推广一个线上的购物平台，可以通过这个购物平台进入京东淘宝购物，和一些淘宝返利的app很相像，你可以从中领取优惠券和一些返利。你中奖以后，在核实过你的芝麻信用分和你的花呗使用记录以后，再向运营商申请了解你的消费记录和消费能力以后，你可以在平板、手机(一个5g手机，市值2000多)、某小型奢侈手表(我不太认识牌子，据说值4000左右)三者中选取一个奖品，保证自己的手机号不注销，不换用户。好了，重点来了，你必须要在他们的这个购物平台里消费3980元，而且必须是他们平台的特定产品，消费时间可以是三个月内，六个月内，十二个月内，不产生利息，但是你必须完成这个消费额度。听到这里我觉得不对劲了…(也是因为他每讲一句话我都单独停下来问他才会讲得这么详细)我就反问他，那些是不是意味着我欠你们平台钱？他说也不是欠钱，就是要在这里消费，反正你在淘宝买东西也是买，其他平台也是买，你总会消费这么多钱，你在这里花也是一样的，还可以免费领个平板或者是5g手机。只要在时间期限内消费完也不会对你的征信产生任何影响。我:？？？那这不就是相当于我欠你们钱吗？那我不要了。那个工作人员还表现得蛮遗憾的样子，说今天整个活动的其他中了平板的奖的人都已经领取了，就只有我没有，我说没关系，我不想为了一个不需要的东西背上没必要的债务，然后让他把我填写了个人信息的纸丢进碎纸机粉碎了。
回来的路上我越想越不对劲，这个活动肯定不止办了一两天，说是免费但其实相当于你为了购买这个东西超期分期消费甚至是掏空你的个人征信，而且他还讲其他中奖的人都领了这个东西，我突然觉得他们都受骗了…因为我问得很详细很详细所以最后一点也没犹豫就走了，但是其他人我觉得他们可能根本没搞清楚其中的利害…这个活动说是在他们平台上消费3980就可以，而且这3980买的东西还是你自己的，但是我借工作人员的手机看了下，产品很少，实用性不用，并且价格也不便宜…而且你如果没在规定的时间内在他们平台上面用掉这么多钱的话还会影响你的征信，因为这笔钱相当于你欠他们三大运营商的。
我从店里出来给朋友打电话讲了这个事，她立马语气激动地和我讲不要领，说自己前段时间也是在一样的地点中了一样的奖然后领了个手机，过了几天才意识到这是个骗局，拉了个本地的朋友一起过去店里才勉强解决这个事。广州这样的事情还有很多，在外面碰到别人发传单最好不要接，因为很容易被骗，防不胜防。
因为觉得这个事以及类似的事情还有很多很多，为了避免一些和我一样社会经验不足的朋友被骗所以想了下还是整理了一下事情经过发出来，希望大家都注意一下，尽量提高警惕性，尤其是一个人的时候，擦亮眼睛，保持头脑清醒，天上绝对不会有掉馅饼的事情，看起来像是馅饼，实际上可能会是一个需要我们付出巨大的代价的被有心人画出来的空饼。希望大家都注意安全，不要被骗。

#QOTO is back after a long migration in the first stage of our upgrade. Now that we are on a new home we will give it 24 horus to see if the move was bug free (As it seems to be) and then we will start upgrading versions one at a time day by day.. The upgrades are prepared and ready and should be **much** quicker.
The move took a while as we keep a backlog of every message to the start of the fediverse so our media and DB stores are quite large and it took a long time. But we are back!!!

Hey, Fedi admins, go right now and check to make sure that you have caps/limits set on your Object Storage provider so they just stop serving you images instead of charging you $3,000 because some random person in Europe decided to scrape your instance.
