REAL GENIUS in 4K

I didn't know they'd done a new 4K edition of one of my favorite films and a Val Kilmer classic, Real Genius.

The reviews of the 4k transfer are good and it goes to show you how popular this film is that they would go to the expense.

For $17 it's a no-brainer to buy

likes to survey his surroundings and calculate the most likely place that he will get stepped on and then lay there.

I have not stepped on him lately but I often find myself Parkouring my way around him.

Day 6

everyone! Not much to report today as we have only been awake for 28 minutes. But he seems to be in a good mood. I got him to eat a full meal last night (even if it was hamburger and not his dog food), and I took him for a car ride, which usually is his favorite thing in the world. Getting him up and down his stairs was not easy but he managed. I am not sure how much he actually enjoyed the ride though. Normally he sits at the window but last night he just laid down in the back, not able to see anything. We'll see if future rides change.

As for Thanksgiving it is going to be a quiet one, just he and I. I had planned on having a friend come into town but with everything going on I decided it would be better if we rescheduled for another time.

Collage - Mostly Rufus though two other dogs snuck in, one of which I don't even know, LOL.

World Cup Score

Germany was up 1-nil and then I had to go into a meeting. When I came out Japan had knocked them off 2-1! I missed an exciting ending apparently.

Day 5

SOLID POO! 💩 He has not been pooping regularly and when he has it has been liquid (sorry if I am being gross, but I am happy about this).

I was also able to get him to eat a little this morning. He did not eat last night. The strange thing is I believe he is hungry, he just did not want his dog food. I might have to switch up food .

Also he seem a bit less steady this morning, taking two stumble and falls - though I do think it had to do with him trying to turn too fast. Anything that involves head movements still disorients him quite a bit. Overall I still believe we are improving, but we still have a good ways to go.

Picture is with my Grand-niece, before this issue began.

@klillington I actually have a ramp, but he WILL NOT use it. I don't know why but he won't even step on it. also the ramp is a little too narrow for him. Maybe I need to look into different ones.

I do love it when wags his tail in his sleep. It lets me know he is resting and happy. (I tried to get video but he stopped).

@underlander Yeah I have heard similar things from several people. I hope he will be able to navigate stairs again because his favorite thing in the world is to go for car rides. He had been using stairs to get in and out of the car. Unfortunately he is a 90 lb dog that hates being picked up. Getting him in and out of the car to go to the vet has been a fight. Leisurely joy rides might be a thing of the past if he can't use the stairs. :blobfoxpatsad:

Especially our peeps from Trek Twitter seem to be having trouble finding others from other servers, so how about we make this a #StarTrek roll call post, where everybody reply with a 🖖🏻 or something similar, so others can see and find you. And please make sure to boost the heck out of this.

@darniil Rufus was also diagnosed with idiopathic vestibular disorder. I hope if there is anything permanent that the head tilt is the only issue he has to deal with. He is 13 years old and I don't want what time he has left to be suffering.

@Spring Thank you so very much! This is the first time I have ever had to deal with something like this and it has been stressful.

@obi I accidentally posted the pic before writing the update lol. I posted the update just now

Update
Day 4
We had our follow up visit yesterday. The vet believes he is improving (though this was her first time seeing him since the initial event was treated at the emergency vet). If I had to put a number to it I would say he is 40% better. His walking has improved, He can walk on the hard wood flooring in the house as long as he is careful. The vertigo seems to have subsided for the most part. His eye movements are minimal. However the balance is still heavily affected and the head tilt is still pretty severe. Also he swings his head about pretty badly.

They tested his ears again and again it came back with no infection, but he screamed when they tested his left ear so there must be something going on in there. The vet sent him home with Antibiotics and more anti-nausea meds and we will monitor the situation.

My main concern right now is to get him eating and drinking again normally and making sure he does not hurt himself trying to move around. I really hope this clears up soon. He is currently snoozing behind me in my office.
