Reading about _really_ intelligent people like #JohnConway makes one feel minuscule.

Contra #MorganHousel on how to read:
> _“#Men suffer 91.4% of fatal injuries on the job, versus 8.6% for women. The most dangerous occupation in the United States is logging, where the fatal injury rate is 82.2 per 100,000 workers and where 96% of the people in the occupation are male. Underground mining […] is the 8th most dangerous, with 26.7 deaths per 100,000 workers and with 99% of the workers being male. Should we get more #women in those occupations to close that fatality #GenderGap?”_

In the public sector we're often told to follow what the private sector do, that they are the model to follow. In reality, we do some things better in the public sector: accessibility, user research that is not led by profit, working in the open, avoiding deceptive patterns, going slow and not breaking things. The web itself came from the public sector, we can all learn from each other.
If you say “I will not change my climate behavior until <Rich Person> stops flying in a private jet”, someone will point at your behavior which releases more carbon than they and say “until they change, I won’t change”. And there will be someone pointing at them who has an even lower impact.
Yes, privat jets must be banned. But everyone must change their behavior. Who releases more, must do more. But this is on everyone.
Because, if everyone is willing to change, we can ground those m-fers.
