What strikes me as notable and important in the shooting death of Anthony Lowe, Jr. is that police deemed him a threat because he had a large butcher knife.

However, at the time he was shot (having already been tasered) he was not in his wheelchair, and was attempting to evade police, not move toward them, by crawling on his leg stumps, pulling himself along with his arms.

How was he a threat? Was he suddenly going to take flight?

While we are reasonably focused on Tyre Nichols, we need to pay attention to the fatal police shooting of Anthony Lowe, Jr. in Huntington Park, CA on Thursday.

Like more than half of Americans, killed by police, Mr. Lowe was disabled, a double amputee who used a wheelchair.
