It's a neat trick! A 10-dimensional string theory looks 4-dimensional at low energies, and the resulting physics inherits structures reminiscent of the standard model of particle physics.
Unfortunately, it introduces other problems. These include (broken) supersymmetry, which we have no evidence for, and – absent a mechanism for stabilizing them – light or massless scalar fields called "moduli" that pose problems for 5th force experiments and tests of the equivalence principle.
So what is special about Staten Island ? It used to be a entry point to the US at one time, does it have a different legal status?
The leaders from Serbia etc where charged in the i|CC for crimes during the balkan war in the early 1990s.
NASA announced the crew of the next moon mission. Here's a rundown on what the mission entails, why we have to do flight tests when we've already been to the moon, and why this crew isn't landing on the moon.
"Donald Trump has already begun to identify by name and threaten witnesses, prosecutors, family members, and judges in the criminal prosecution now underway against him in Manhattan. This is not surprising for him. ...
Nothing Trump does is shocking anymore. But it is literally unthinkable that a former president would put private citizens at risk."
~ Joyce Vance
I am not sure about US law, but in the United Kingdom you are not allowed to "identify by name and threaten witnesses, prosecutors, family members, and judges " If I understand it this wpuld be seen as contempt of court (among other things), if Trump does not keep his mouth shut, he could, if US law is similar to ours, end up with those charges laid against him, regardless of if he is guilty / not guilty of the hush money charges.
If there are any lawyers on here who could clarity the position here it may be of interest to people generally.
"Only two members of the Tennessee state House have been expelled from the chamber since the Civil War. On Thursday, Republicans plan to expel three Democrats at once for the unpardonable sin of leading 'gun reform now' chants from the podium without having been recognized to speak."

This is great, thank you for this, I can try and have a go at the next or a future STEM group meeting.
Last week I uploaded full instructions to demo 'Ocean Acidification in a Test Tube' 🌊🌈🧪 to University Geoscience UK's new teaching resources portal: https://earth-science.org.uk/search-results/entry/311/
If you have Earth sciences teaching materials that might be useful for schoolteachers, do consider uploading and sharing here: https://earth-science.org.uk/teach-earth/.

This is a difficult question, while eco-tourism brings in money, what is the cost to the environment of flying to the Congo in order to explore the forests for example and see the wildlife.
Perhaps one way to help bring in income to local people and the wider economy is to find a way to help people sell locally made items around the world, but items that are hand made and not mass produced, so each item is a reflection of local culture but also has the attention to detail of that hand made item.
Photography is one way to do this, if the locals, armed with a camera go out and take photos of the local communities, wildlife, buildings, architecture then these can perhaps be printed and sold, but sold as a numebered lot, 1/1000 - 1000/1000 for example, so they are limited editions.
Creates employment but also avoids the mass produced items associated with tourism.
Science research is also a big thing, so if people are to fly to the Congo, then priority can be given to those seeking to study what is there, could be anything from undergrarduate, to research, work with the local universities and allow the same reciprocal arrangements, so UK / Congo universities work together for example.
Accomodation could be very simple, but have solar power + inverters to power devices for example.
The world’s most powerful lung is no longer the Amazon, but the Congo forest basin. MO* journalist John Vandaele investigated how many resources the international community is allocating to protect the immense forest. The key question is: can the Congolese boost their prosperity without cutting down their fragile forests? Some conclusions. https://www.mo.be/en/editorial/it-takes-more-one-dollar-congolese-sustain-central-african-forest

I am trying to share what is going on in the US with regard to the rise of attacks on the LGBTQA+ communities, and what is happening on twitter, which helps to facilitate some of this.
Started off by suggesting people need to think about how they can on the one hand be committed to safeguarding and be on twitter, given what is going on. More recently however I am trying to up this by saying why are you still on twitter.
Not sure if has any effect on people, but trying to suggest peoples reputations and that of their company / employer is at stake could make a difference.
Advantage is that these blog posts can have embedded toots, which in turn, have links to external sources to back the toots up, so we can't be accused of mis-information, when a toot points to local leglislation voting schedules or local newspaper reports.
There is very little hidng from this now as even the BBC are starting to give things a mention.
Congrats to Alonso High School’s Matt Hernandez for winning Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week presented by @usnikefootball@twitter.com! 🏈

In Germany, teaching the Holocaust is mandatory.
It includes visits to concentration camp, museums, etc. They don't shy away from their own ugly history. Yet the kids aren't damaged; they're strengthened, matured, humbled. The U.S. needs to do same with slavery.
Not that complicated.
