For self-righteous assholes who tell me stupid shit like “I see you don’t use alt-text. Blocked” and then block so I don’t have the chance to respond: you obviously haven’t scrolled through my shit ‘cause while it’s true I haven’t always used alt-text, there have been several occasions where I have and have boosted others who do. I agree,l and parents need to be helped to do this, many adults can use a computer but are not technical wizards and do seem to have low confidence.
If they work in say pet grooming for example, then that is their area of expertise. Even a secretary in an office will be good at specific things.
There seems to be a disconnect, of course we can raise kids to respect each other they then watch the news and see adults as hypocrites in that respect.

@zleap google 'Online Safety Act' - they're about to in the UK.
There are also states in the US that are enacting porn block laws.
I am not advocating we block violence in the same way, I am lamenting the double standards at play. I think responsibility for children's online safety should (of course) be supported by ISPs/govt, but ultimately that support should consist of providing tools for *parents and carers* to use to protect their kids.
Not sure, but as with anything in government it is usually reactionary and in consistent,
