Maybe we could also give them Fork Handles so they can attach to forks to help dig trenches.

It will be a day long remembered first we see indictment of Trump, we may at last see the end of the GOP.

Why? These are essential services, can someone from here perhaps contact Africa CDC and see if they can join here.
We had one of these at the STEM Groupi was running a few years ago, could not even get it working and due to lack of expertise was unable to ask anyone for help.
I still have it at home as I got it with a magazine.
This is why I wanted more adults at the group (we are not Paignton Library STEM Group) as I cannot DO everything, and struggle with things like this.

There was a time when kids would go out and play, climb trees and do all the stuff that was normal for kids, sure they would fall out of trees, fall off bikes, get hurt, they learned to get up and keep going.
We are now so risk averse and terrified of litigation that kids seem to be sheilded from even minor danger, there was an article shared here on fedi, pointing out the serious mental health issues that stem from that.
If you stop kids taking normal risks, such as climbing trees, they get bored and end up turning to more dangerous things activities. Or just sitting on computers, talking to strangers who may pretend to be the same age as them. Kids need to learn to assess risk and as you said act accordingly, they need to be able to cope with setbacks rather than being taught to blame everyone other than themselves for what happens. The pandemic has been blamed for all sorts of things, meanwhile we have immigrant children, arriving with nothing, who go to school, work hard, and eventually gain degrees and PhD's. So there is nothing that can't be achieved.
In addition if we tell kids every adult is a predator they are not able to ask for or accept help if needed, adults are too scared to actually help in case they are accused of something. Kids need to learn that some grown ups are genuine when offering a helping hand.
Lets do kids a favour and start helping them navigate the world properly.

Sometimes I have a hard time keeping it together.
I want to scream and rage and punch someone when I think of the way greed and corruption and lust for power are destroying the ecosystem, sending thousands upon thousands of plant and animal species into extinction, and condemning poor people in less "developed" countries to suffer and die as the climate spirals out of control. All for the sake of money and vanity.
I just don't know how to respond sometimes — especially when I read things like this...

Record Heat Waves Push India Closer To Limit Of Human Survival
India, on course to becoming the world's most-populous country, risks approaching the limit of human survival as it experiences more intense and frequent heat waves.
The national weather office has forecast rising temperatures in the coming weeks after India experienced its hottest February since 1901. That's stoked concerns that there will be a repeat of last year's record heat wave, which caused widespread crop damage and triggered hours-long blackouts.
While temperatures as high as 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit) are unbearable in any condition, the damage is made worse for those of India's 1.4 billion population who are stuck in tightly packed cities and don't have access to well-ventilated housing or air-conditioning.

All this was preventable. It did NOT have to happen.
It is the result of policy choices, of industries and governments cooperating to extract and burn fossil fuels, and of societies choosing not to value equality among their citizens and not to protect the commons.
So much suffering. So many deaths. And for what?
