1/2 Dear fellow Europeans, I am respectfully asking you to consider signing this European Citizen Initiative to institute a billionaire tax. It was invented by leading French economist Thomas Piketty; I read the whole thing, and it is technically excellent. Hit me if you have questions, but please sign it, it is important.
It needs 1 million signatures (currently 300K) and seven countries over their threshold (currently three: Denmark, France, Germany).

Agreed, like the school bully, anyone who tries to challenge their behaviour esp school staff are branded bullies but the bully or bullies themselves.
What concerns me is that back in 2001, following the 9/11 attacks there was big rise in islamaphobia, and a lot of nasty talk, as well as various conspiracy theories. This was before the rise of socal media and the internet generally. Fast forward to 2024, If this does escalate beyond what we have no in Gaza, we will see a huge increase in both Islamaphobia, antisemitism on line and in society generally and those communities and anyone associated with (e.g friends) will end up in living in terror due to the risk of attacks.
The true face of social media / big tech as enablers of will hopefully be exposed to such a level that the population wakes up to the damage being done.
I am not too sure, but reading this I really hope that we are not seeing the start of a new trend where the word 'Actually' is put in front of things, like we have with 'Literally' and 'Obviously' that seems very common and is not needed in many cases.
For the next update, I'm not planning on changing any underlying points, it is going to be more of a supplement.
One thing I'm thinking on commenting on is Covid (although, sometimes there is a better way to bring up a particular point, so that plan might change).
Surely also, sanctions are always a temporary measure designed to encourage (or force) a country to comply with something or remove, for example sources of income when that country has invaded, usually a simply case, invade country, told to leave, sanctions applied, if country leaves then sanctions are lifted.
As with Russia / Ukraine, they did not work, but it puts the onus on the country that has done something to act and make the right choices.
Israel does not seem to care, it just plays the victim card all the time,

Update: moved this to my new writing site so there’s a new URL.
Every hashtag on every post on every platform should always be pascal case. I wrote this to illustrate how screenreaders read hashtags based on their case.
It’s a small thing that all of us can do to build a more inclusive, accessible internet for all. Please take the time to use pascal case.

Researchers uncover the secrets of “plant puberty”
Researchers have uncovered genetic changes behind the timing of plants’ transition from leaf growth to reproduction, akin to “puberty.” This discovery reveals variations in developmental timing even under identical conditions. Understanding these genetic factors could enhance crop uniformity and nutrition, benefiting farmers and consumers alike.

if you are good at writing / linguistics perhaps the
@libreoffice documentation team can use your help, being a large project it will look good on your CV, partly as people will have heard of LibreOffice, smaller niche projects are good too.
https://www.freecodecamp.org/ do some courses, what sort of things are you interested in as having a cv full of courses is fine, but can make it look cluttered if not directly related to what you want to do going forward.
What are your career goals?
On the other hand having recent courses on there, does make you look busy and serious about learning new skills and gaining exertise in a certain area,
I am not fully sure, but it was a choice between freezers and ventilation.

@mustapipa So what happens if we discovered life did exist on one of Jupiters moons, but is no longer there to the levels of CO_2 in the atmosphere, being far higher due to activity of intelligent life. That would be ground breaking, but would that provide the wake up call humans need.
During its flyby of Earth the, Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (#Juice) probe found ingredients for #life in Earth’s #atmosphere.
The #flyby provided the opportunity to test out and calibrate Juice’s science instruments in space, ensuring that they are ready for arrival at #Jupiter.
In the Jupiter system, Juice will fly through dust and gas emitted from the icy moons #Europa, #Ganymede and #Callisto, and search for signatures of life under their icy crusts.

To my last boost. Please boost this for wide spread. This is an opportunity for #braille dice sets to enter the realm of #mainstream and mass manufacturing. I haven't been able to read of full set of #dice as a #TTRPG player in 20 years since I went #blind. It would be beautiful for something like this to be added to life and make me feel like I'm right up there with everyone else. Thank you!
Just going to add the link directly here as well.
