I have written a short article for my local community magazine thing.
This is 317 words, max is about 330, however once we are happy with this.

I would to get this in well before the Dec 13th Deadline as it can then hopefully go in to the January issue.
I am trying to keep this at a level for the avg (non technical) person to read, but not shy away from some of the terminology associated with the fediverse.
Move Over, NFTs: Virtual Land in the Metaverse Is Selling for Millions of Dollars
singularityhub.com/2021/12/01/…
#SingularityHub #chronicles #technological #progress by #highlighting the #breakthroughs, #players, and #issues shaping the #future as well as #supporting a #global #community of #smart, #passionate, #action-oriented #people who want to #change the #world.
There seems to be an issue with Mastodon.social but don't draw any conclusions yet..
Remember, the Fediverse is mainly hosted by people like you and me. We are not big tech companies with millions or billions of dollars to keep up the infrastructe, stuff might break every once in a while and theirfor we simple ask a little patience ❤️
Give Eugen some time to fix the issues, I am sure this is his number 1 prio.

There is no computer text book in my country, for children aged 6 to 14, geared towards free software.
I hope that we can write one. I need help: https://github.com/Aman9das/Our_Free_Software/tree/main
This is where we can get help:
1) If there already is one elsewhere in the world, we need a link to it, haha
2) we need to create the blueprint and syllabus structure
3) we need the initiative to reach a more people (and hopefully writers)

Is Deepin Linux The Windows Killer? (Deepin 20.3 First Look)
@zleap NO. Fight Fight Fight even if it means you get injured more. Bodily injury generally heals faster then injury to one's heart and soul. And the idea that not fighting back means you escape trauma is ludicrous. And in my daughter's case she was grabbed from behind and wasn't really given a chance to say much of anything.
Btw I liked how the campaign actually calls us to stand with all "carers of the world" (not just nurses). It makes a lot more senseto not go the route of "health care professionals".
My daughter was raped at 13. Recently the subject of rape came up in two of her classes and from what she said it was handled very poorly.
So she made an appointment with the principle and her guidance councilor and explained to them why it was handled so poorly and how it should have been handled and that staff training was necessary and provided them some options for it. It took two hours. A 4 hour teacher in service day has already been scheduled for the first training module. good for her.

@zleap "Common sense" doesn't exist. It is the cry of presumption bemoaning variance in human experience. (Or someone unaware of their own privileges.) It is the first cousin of, "have you tried not being poor?"
The only things that humans have in common is ignorance.
@zleap I remember working as a chef in London when the new knife ban came into effect, (after teacher Philip Lawrence was stabbed to death). We had a strange moment when it was announced over the radio and everyone looked up, holding large knifes and realised we had all, in that moment become criminals.
