Here's a random question for you guys!
Do you remember game books? Like fighting fantasy stuff etc? Choose your own adventure kinda jam.
Well, I had a couple as a kid that I absolutely adored. Each bookcase with a blue and red die. One for the hero and one for the enemies. They had faces and swords on them etc.
They weren't separate, they came with the books. For the life of me, I can't remember what they were called. Absolutely no idea whatsoever.
Do you know? Could you share this if not?!
https://martinfowler.com/articles/your-org-run-mastodon.html but, no one wants to run their own server https://moxie.org/2022/01/07/web3-first-impressions.html. Discuss!
@cwebber@octodon.social I am immensely sorry for the person from QOTO who responded to this and your other post with a middle finger and disrespect. I suspended them for hate speech. I am talking to my other mods to make sure they dont object, but with it being clearly against our rules I suspect their suspension will stick.
Once again very sorry for that uncalled for behavior, he hasnt acted like that int he past.

A reminder for anyone new to mastodon who might not be happy with some of the racist and bad actors out there on other servers... Just import the fediblock list to your personal blocks and you will be safe from the vast majority of bad actors.
@gamingonlinux Awesome dude! It's WILD right now. @thunderbird got 1000 new followers in the last 8 hours or so.
Completely blown away by that.
Mastodon is really having a moment in mainstream news coverage. CNN, BBC, TIME, etc.
The influx of users will continue at an alarming rate. Remember to be welcoming, and kind, and positive, and helpful.
This isn't just an opportunity to improve the idea of social media, it's an opportunity to shine a wonderful light on #opensource.

“I want news organizations to not only set up their own servers but also to start adding share-on-Mastodon buttons to story pages. That will send a message to Elon et al, endorsing an alternative.” — @jeffjarvis https://buzzmachine.com/2022/11/05/hope-for-a-post-musk-net/

@profcarroll thinking this might be useful for you since I know you're thinking of going down the path of running your own instance for a group. ^
