Just finished another 10 mi (15.11km) bike ride ๐Ÿšฒ . I slowed down because it was @absolutus 's first time but he kept pretty decent pace (just a bit slower than my normal time) What I really love though is how much my heart rate has improved! 2 months ago I wouldnt have been able to get to the end of the block but now I'm going the distance. Couldn't be happier with my results!

@freemo @absolutus I will exercise vicariously until I can find a 24 hour gym I like.

@Surasanji Having access to an enjoyable and easy to get to exercise environment is hugely important to keeping at it. I am lucky because the netherlands has more bicycle lanes than roads. So all i have to do is walk outside my door and I have a 10 mile (16km) track through the woods.

@freemo @absolutus Yeah, I've seen how Israelis drive. I'm not going out on that road with a bike. Looks like suicide to me.

But a gym I can enjoy in the summer and winter would be a good idea.

@Surasanji The netherlands mostly has bike lanes completely seperate from roads. Where that is not the case the roads usually have very little traffic.

@freemo @absolutus There are a couple of bike lanes in some areas of Tel Aviv that are separated by a fairly decent curb. But it isn't universal enough for me to trust the people on the road.

@freemo @absolutus hmm, my daily commuting (2 x 10 km) is my cycling excersise, but I have never recorded heart rates or so. You will make progress automatically if you do this a few times a week. ๐Ÿ˜€

Well i was really out of shape when i started all this. Lost 50 lbs and started exercising. So the progress for me was huge and very fast. But i think people who start at a reasonable weight and already walking a lot wouldnt see sch drastic differences.

I know some go from foodie to health foodie, though it's not really my thing.

Yea all of my weight loss was due to diet (switched to keto), exercise did not account for any of my weight loss et (other than light walking). The biking is a new habit.

@freemo @absolutus Indeed then it's a lot of progress. Just don't push the limits too hard, so it stays a pleasant activity which you will keep on doing.
