@lupyuen that's pretty cool about the symbolics machine: i had no idea their machines had that much of a role in computer graphics. every time I think of lisp machines, I think of them like artifacts from a possible alternative time line where C and other algol-likes didn't become as dominant

@lupyuen it's amusing to imagine those early days when one of the devs managed to get the polys and shaders just right for recognizable, but still blocky, boobs, and the art director or whoever says, "we might just have something here, guys"

that's not to trivialize what they did though: these were real artists, designers, and seriously impressive programmers that made FF7

@alcinnz I suppose so, in a way. I know I've fallen asleep during podcasts before. I've also been riveted listening to others, both those with a narrative format and with a more pedagogical tone. though i wonder how well I've retained some of it 😁 @ajroach42
