I've heard this meme about how because humans caused something, that humans can fix it. That's patently false. Like, entropy is a thing. Humans can't un-murder, un-rape, un-burn, un-eat, etc.
Now, I've heard this in reference to things caused by large groups like climate change and structural racial inequity. The thing is, people caused such things in more or less their default modes of being selfish, covetous, and disregarding remote people and places. There are, for sure, active components to the causes that got us where we, nominally, don't want to be but it's not given that it'll take the same effort to reverse course either politically or mechanically
Just spent almost half a day resolving conflicts and such for a merge in the #Guix development branch.
Lesson: merges in a large repo are hard, youโd rather do them frequently.
This #riddle was kinda fun.

Pointed to it by #theWanderingInn . It was actually really easy to solve though. I *did* have to one little bit of guess and check...but I guessed right on the first try, so it took less than 20 minutes with pen and paper (I didn't actually time it).
I love how Evangelion has these little explanatory sequences. As if any of this sh*t makes a lick of sense anyway.

It's wild to think of some of these things I take for granted or imagined were just the evolution of some preexisting thing as being designed/invented.

@izaya There's a good reason.
There's no standard OS package manager, so when there's multiple competing standards there's a natural desire to create an abstraction layer.
Furthermore, you don't individually control the contents of the OS package manager. It's whatever suits the needs of the OS, not the user.
For a long time, the "python" package across most OSes was python2 even when python3 was recommended, for backwards compatibility with unmaintained python2 software.

Some school buses parked since start of the pandemic near my house. Its been a while since children saw school.
Instead of a landscape I thought why not paint some vehicles, so I did this outdoor study.
The timelapse of the process can be viewed here - youtu.be/DGyQHb4vCV0
I had to research the feasibility of making a religion out of modern cryptography.
Turns out, while this would be possible, it would be very Diffie-cult.
And seriously, don't do it, or you'll go to Hell, man.
