@freemo The memory controller is usually the garbage that fails so it's rational to think that some random micro SD card will work about as well as a trusted brand. These embedded memory controllers suck and are the main reason why SSDs and USB drives fail.
You could be getting a bined 2tb card that only works with half the memory. The sketchier it seems, the more likely that is legit. Some weird coating and weird ID is probably removing the original manufacturer and allowing for such a product.
Intel was notorious for taking rejected chips and marketing them as lower spec Intel processors. Essentially everything electronic is mediocre and lies but manufacturing is expensive.
@freemo @LouisIngenthron Obliterating a law firm isn't that rewarding compared to forcing corporate's hand due to the threatening of their brand. They might pay everyone off and forbid such actions in their revised ToS for sellers.
I didn't study business but I'm pretty sure the customers are the group that one wants to keep.

@freemo Let him without Sine cast the first substitution, for all have used Cosine to get Tangent.
@freemo @LouisIngenthron Many powerful groups keep a hit squad of legal professionals at the ready. Such firms don't always play by the rules and act more like a PMC. Don't underestimate these groups but they have a history of actions and clients. Know your enemy better than they know you.
@freemo From what I understand, there are entire law firms that make their living sending bogus legal threats to people to take down reviews. Most folks don't lawyer up like me... they just fold. And once you delete a seller review on Amazon, it's permanent. You can't re-post or edit. So, these firms sell subscription packages to sellers. "Have a bad review? Let us know, we'll send a scary threat."
It's scum work, but there are apparently plenty of lawyers willing to abuse the law to make money 🤷♂️
@thendrix It seems like many shooters leave quite a paper trail and have a rather expensive taste.
@thendrix Pointing out the flaws in streaming services is a good hobby. People need to know what they are missing out on.
@AmpBenzScientist @freemo shooting things - how american 😛
In the dark and close up I am superior yea, but i dont have superior dark vision in general.
@freemo @thor I usually do have better vision in low light than my friends. I was just curious if being near sighted would offer some enhanced perception because of the amount of processing the brain has done with objects that aren't in focus.
Then again it's rather pointless except for hunting as peripheral vision is going to out perform the cones.
@freemo @DrBonesMD @GW@newsie.social Just as soon as I can get a drug habit that makes me useless for anything else.
@freemo Oh I didn't think about it like that. If it was a climate control system they could have used analog computational components that would work well enough. A 24 hour clock could drive a replaceable disk that would activate different relays according to the time.
IE Newtonian Heating and Cooling could be used when implemented with approximate value disks. For more heat the value of the relays could increase via a potentiometer. For less heat the voltage to the heating coils could be reduced proportional to the time of day.
If it's difficult to visualize, just think about a music box. It was the 50s so why not have a bunch of rotating disks in the wall just to get the desired temperature range for a residence?
