@freemo We both have hacking backgrounds I think. There's also the Mathematics background. There's a lot of ideology that we seem to share.
@freemo Indeed it likely is. The results do look rather compatible.
@freemo Conserving the rights we have and fighting for those we've lost.
@thor I love the smell of low tide and amines in general. I try to avoid the smell of the latter because that's going to be damaging to the lungs when working with the freebase amine oil I'm familiar with.
@freemo Capitalism tied with Communism was the main cause for the Comic book guy response.
@freemo @thor @moffintosh It's really quite impressive how effective misdirection can be.
@freemo @thor @moffintosh That's a real investment. It would be nice to see more people do this.
@thor Join the FSF?
@thor The suffering definitely adds to the pleasure. People love suffering and oppression.
@niclas Well said. Java has improved since your last work so I'm sure that was rather refreshing to see. I remember learning Java and realizing that despite all the shortcomings, Java is an amazing setup.
@thor They should make a commercial like the old Chromebooks where they destroy it and say just buy a new one. While it might seem to cause outrage, it's the solution they offer and many users wouldn't want to be bothered by anything more.
With Linux, one could do the same but it would require having one's own cloud.
@thor I'm glad you didn't get a test group and ask them in public. The data from their smart devices and IoT is for sale. Information collected from ISPs could be useful.
@thor Reading the changes to C++ and trying to use Rust.
Trying to find a usable FPGA.
Looking into the way RMS was set up by a University and the people who took advantage of the chaos to swap to less friendly licenses.
Trying to get a DSP to work with something that it should be useful for.
Wondering about cryptocurrencies with quantum computers becoming more readily available.
Looking into why an Xbox One hasn't been cracked yet the PS4 has been.
Trying to use a 3D printer to make a 3D printer to make a 3D printer.
Wondering why 3D printers are widely used when it is essentially a CNC mill and injection molded parts are stronger.
Just getting a 3D printer to work properly.
Getting an Amateur Radio License.
These are all ways to get a woman off the mind. I can't say they are positive.
@niclas For me it's the lessons learned along the way that are golden.
In 2017 I resurrected a Java codebase that I wrote 1997-2000 and was last installed in 2002.
Old treasures are golden when they come to life again. And I think that is what the Retro Computing "movement" is nourishing on.

@freemo Perhaps they sat on their hands until they were numb and typed the statement. The stranger strikes again.

Political stance is far right and far left. Proponent of First Aid Kits and PPE. Easily disheartened by big tech. Partially hinged personality and stubborn enough to not write this in the First Person.
