@rysiek when you say "literal fascists," what exactly do you mean by that?

@penny Canada as a refugee if it actually gets bad
@valleyforge
I mean we'll see. That may help, but replacing one of the most liberal justices for someone moderate at a time when the country as a whole is becoming more liberal is quite an affront still.
@randomthoughts@mstdn.social
It's a perfect storm. A global pandemic has brought record unemployment just months before an extremely contentious election. Increasing inequality and declining quality of life for the lower and middle classes has eroded trust in the government in general. The government is pushing right even though the country as a whole is becoming more liberal overall. Police overreactions to protests/riots due to police brutality has eroded trust in the police and government. Now there's the risk that the government will shift for decades because of this.
It's not good.
@alex
It's called a progressive web app. A worker in the browser queries the web server for updates on a regular basis.
@sim
He's one of the only remaining neoliberals with widespread name recognition. Neoliberal = big money = donations
@NeikoCat
That was a rude thing to imply isn't it? Suggesting I was a cunt? Some might say it was cunt-ish.
That's my point. Any negative opinion can be received as cunt-ish by some group of people.
Negative reenforcement is important in social communication. It indicates to other people issues that they have. But in social media, there's always some group that will be offended by it. That's all I'm saying.
@NeikoCat
It requires you to never express opinions about anyone else ever, which is pretty sensitive.
@NeikoCat
That's my point. Everyone is either a cunt to a certain extent, or they're overly sensitive and unable to take or give a joke.
@NeikoCat
That's something dangerous about social media. Everyone's an asshole to a certain extent, but a single social media post that gains the wrong kind of traction can end your career and damage your reputation for years. See "cancel culture."
@Jleimer
Yeah! And let's stop washing our hands after shitting while we're at it!
@freemo
What's proven relatively most profitable for you so far?
@jkn
Culture on an online forum is a function of precedence and site engineering, not chance. The majority of school shooters several years ago spent a majority of their time on anonymous image boards like 4chan. Would you stand by while violent contagion grips a nation(see: civil war), or would you actually do something about it?
When we see something on the news that we know about, we always think "That's not right!" We then forget about that and believe everything else we see.
