@2ck
I reread your post several times hoping for an an ironic syntax error, but was disappointed, lol

@sim
It's not accurate to blame capitalism for all of obesity. Japan is capitalist, yet has some of the lowest obesity rates in advanced nations.

What is the logic behind thinking a fart joke is immature?

@SEEK
It is an interesting thought experiment. I didn't mean to be a Debbie downer or anything. I just come upon a lot of anarcho-capitalists on this site that genuinely think that it's possible and preferable to push towards an anarchist state right now. All that will do is cause unnecessary conflict.

I am curious. You agree with me that it goes against human nature to accomplish these kinds of changes. What is your opinion of using genetic modification to fundamentally change human nature for this?

@SEEK
You are right about it being dangerous for power to be concentrated. The issue is that it's a prisoners dilemma. By that I mean it would require the simultaneous release of power by all nations and people for it to not be concentrated, which will never happen because 1) it goes against human nature, and 2) simultaneous release is impossible. Any nation that doesn't release it would be immediately overtaken by a nation that still maintained concentration of power.

@sda
That's always been a risk with oral vaccine. When using an attenuated virus, it's a balancing act between providing protection to most vs having a small percentage get infected from a random mutation in the attenuated input. With polio counts so low, I'm surprised they're using attenuated virus.

@SEEK
Nuclear proliferation occurred under the Soviet Union. It's creation was less about capitalism and more about human nature always striving for power.
Also, an extremely large amount of science is pushed forward with military funding and research. The internet itself was created so that information could still be spread in the event of a nuclear war.

@ymd
I don't really know what this means, but I like it

@judgedread
The rapist in the book wasn't a muslim, but a foster parent.

@freemo
It's a machine learning-based ethereum(cryptocurrency) price prediction bot. Simulations show that using the bot would have given a 4.5x(450%) return from 2018 to now. So far, real life is looking exactly like the simulations did! (Granted it's just been a week, but still)

It's working!! While the market has seen an 8% increase in the last few days, my bot has made a 16% increase in the test funds!!

@crunklord420
Many organizations have insurance for such events. At a large scale, it becomes a balancing act between risk of event, cost of event, cost of insurance, projected downtime, etc. Despite what it seems, CTOs generally do have this calculated in the application of their policies.

@claudius
Audio is still a pain in the ass on Linux, you aren't alone.

I kind of assume that most posts with a generic female anime profile pic that post about absolutely nothing are either bots or members of a three letter agency.

@thedesertlynx
Yeah but there'd need to be a 10x return every year for crypto to even stay even with the $500k/year. The best bots I have can only get a 2.5x return per year.

@Nova
They already taught about slavery in my history classes. Further discussion would just make the class propaganda.

@ElfLord
You should try it again. It's got a really slow start, but the middle and end are slow too.

@cowanon
He brought a firearm to a riot then antagonized the riot. That was extremely immature and foolish.
