Matthias Pfefferle is known to be quite willing communicate directly with people having trouble with his plugin. He is @pfefferle on several platforms, and @pfefferle.

@Teri_Kanefield

I am tech-aware but not technical, at least not in the modern sense. I can program in C++, , & , and I administered a Wordpress site a decade ago. So what I say is not very deep.

I know the hyphens improve the name law-and-politics.online BUT they will cause you serious frustration for the followers for remembering it. Much better would be LawAndPolitics.online .

Invest in both domain names to prevent malicious domain squatting.

@EubieDrew scholar.social is actually one that wont be changing their toon anytime soon. They were exceedingly vile and in fact the reason QOTO exists at all.

I started my career there and it was my first account. I saw the admin banning en mass LGBTQ members (I joined because they boasted LGBTQ friendly stance).. I found out it was because those members were following bad-actors, though they were doing it to monitor for doxxing and calls to violence so they could warn their community.

Anyway when I saw this I started QOTO as a truly LGBTQ friendly place that would protect them rather than punish the victims. The users from there and other instances around the fediverse flocked to QOTO and we very quickly exceeded the size of the scholar instance and others and became one of the largest, LGBTQ friendly and free speech instances on the fediverse. Since then we have grown to be one of the largest non-general instances onn the whole network.

Anyway the owner of the scholar instance was furious and of course banned me and labeled me a nazi for doing it. He also banned our instance so he could not only ban his members but prevent them from easily migrating over to here...

I tried reaching out to him years ago to make peace but he was very aggressive and abusive and the very idea that I should date to email him.

So yea.... very toxic instance and no hope of recovering that sadly.

@freemo

The ones that have caused a frustration for me are:

@MarcTheBulll @elonmusk If Elon shuts down twitter here in the USA, I don’t know how I can live without it. Instead of staying here, I’ll be moving to Alaska where they plan to keep twitter! Just got my passport yesterday in case I need to move there. So long America.

Even though there was only enough employees to keep Twitter going for a single day, the tweets continued tweeting for eight wondrous nights, leading the sages to declare a miracle

Until recently, Twitter was the worst social media platform, except for all the others.

Now has that honor.

People aren't suddenly discovering that Twitter was actually great the whole time...

They are reacting to the potential loss of the little shreds of it that they actually appreciated.

They saw the promise of what COULD have been and mourn the loss of that promise.
