@Pat Individual action, even collectively, is a drop in the bucket compared to the contributions of governments and industry. It's like trying to solve a crack in Hoover Dam by getting the locals to line up with buckets.
As for your second statement, why is meat any more murder than salad? In both cases, you're eating the dead carcass of a once-living being killed for your consumption, right?

I live in a country, ostensibly run by adults, where a major political party can't decide whether it's Mickey Mouse or Barbie that poses the greater threat.
@chrishudsonjr Right there with you, hence the response to your prompt. That's the thing: I typically don't disagree with her message; It's her methods I don't like.
I don't like that the adults around her let her become a political mascot before she was even an adult. And I don't like her endless thirst for attention since becoming an adult. She's like the worst parts of activist celebrity and reality TV star were smashed together. With each stunt, you're left wondering if it was for the cause, or for raising her own clout online.

@bruce That's definitely possible in the game, but the democratic reforms I enacted prevented me from doing so without a fair trial. If I took a more authoritarian bent from the start, then I could've "This is Sparta!"ed them out of the country.

It's a political game where you run a fictional country, but it's the best political simulator I've ever played. You really get to try to form the country into the image you want... and the other people in that country will hate you for it.
I tried to build a democratic-socialist utopia. I made voting easier. I passed civil rights laws. I reformed the constitution to impose more limits on my own office to balance the branches of government. Where I went wrong was my insistence on running the ultra-rich out of town. They took the whole economy with them and then had me assassinated.
That was a week of text-based gameplay and I still can't wait to dive in again.
Seriously, though. 10/10. And it's only $15.
