Just started watching "The Menu" and I *love* Anya Taylor-Joy's character. I want to be best friends with her.

Elon Musk is just an asshole, and looking at this response from the disabled employee he just fired and repeatedly insulted, he's talked his ignorant ass into a huge ADA lawsuit.

Musk has no idea how much he is torching his reputation. He's gone from the next Henry Ford minus the racism to Henry Ford *with nothing but the racism.*

I sense another influx of new users coming to the #fediverse soon. So I really think we should do our part to manage expectations.

If you are coming to #Mastodon for the #Twitter experience, I really have to caution you - a lot of us #mastoadmin don't know how to replicate the level of brokenness you're accustomed to.

If you want, every once in a while we can just turn the server off or something. If more people sign up for the Patreon I might be able to hire a part time troll for shift work.

But by all means, this is the guy who should be allowed to implant chips in human brains.

Do people with epilepsy really need that warning on the front of every new AAA video game or do they pretty much get it by now?

Something is very wrong with the 's standby mode. It seems to burn through its entire battery in a day. That's not standby. That's just "on".

Modern deepfake tech would also make the mirror scenes much less pathetically bad.

Watching Quantum Leap for the first time.

The difference in quality between "shot in the 80s" and "shot in the 50s" and "shot with 80s CGI" are very jarring.

It would be fun to do a series like this today but to match the quality of the old stock footage in the historic segments so it all feels more seamless and based in the correct time period.

There are few things more infuriating in /#UX than menus that fold out when you hover over an element only to fold back in before you can interact with them.

I don't mind that "Massachusetts" is hard to spell, I am however a little indignant that people there never came up with a decent song to teach us all how to spell it. If Mississippi can do it, you can do it, Masechussets.

Every time I watch , I catch something new I never noticed before.

This time around, it was in the last episode, "Objects in Space." Did anyone else notice that the oddly-colored planet the ship flies by in the cold open of the episode appears to match the superball River gazes into to close out the episode?

I finally need my high school calculus and it's not even in my brain anymore. 🤦‍♂️

It's amazing how many people with money want to waste that money failing to replicate someone else's success.

On a related note, it's amazing how many brilliant ideas will never be executed because they didn't have the capital to back up the concept.

Spilled some beverage on my mechanical keyboard yesterday and I'm using a regular one now temporarily and I do not understand how people work like this.

Idea:

A website called "StackUnderflow" where all the newbie programmers can ask the stupid questions that aren't allowed on StackOverflow.

Anyone convicted of hacking-related crimes would be required to work at the site answering questions for the duration of their sentence.

if you want to make a list or host a panel that includes the whole spectrum of people who aren't men, that's totally cool! just for god's sake don't call it "women in [x]"

and PLEASE avoid those "clever" terms like women*, i am begging you

p.s. maybe no one's told you this but you are totally free and welcome to highlight exceptional people who aren't men all 12 months of the year!
